Totally agree Burnden, the tactical ineptitude is astonishing!
Another example of this was against Birmingham. We were really down to the bare bones, especially as he axed Madine. So instead of adapting the formation to suit the players he did have at his disposal, he sticks with the same tried and failed tactics and played Clough up top on his own and lumped it up to him as if he was a target man! There is little support to Heskey or Madine when they play but at least they can hold it up sometimes, Clough had no chance. When that clearly wasn't working he still didn't change things to pull the game in our favour. He is totally clueless
Dobbie is as good as anybody else we have up front excepting the youngsters. Madine, Heskey. What more can I say except none of them are good enough.
Lennon has definitely been to slow in bringing on the subs and even then he hasn't picked the ones. What the heck is Silva doing sitting on the bench getting splinters in his bum. It beggars belief. He runs at defenders with his pace and frightens them. He must have upset Lennon otherwise he should be playing.
Madine questions Lennon's authority in front of other players and is brought back into the team.
As I have said before, he would have gone down the road for me and we would be saving thousands of pounds every week. One thing is for sure his goals won't save us because he's not good enough.
I think we are all of the opinion that the current financial plight has to a large extent protected Lennon, but i don't think Deano is a fool and will not be impressed with performances and will know much better than us why we are not getting results. but his window of opportunity to act is becoming smaller as the season end closes in.
We have now had the wages bill publicised, and with relegation looming it looks bad for next season as well.
We really need Lennon moving on now before it is too late....
If you sack him before the end of the season who can you get to come in?
Not going to get sacked until summer as he is due a cheaper severance package if bolton are relegated. If he can keep bolton up he's got the job. I personally think he is trying to get himself sacked as he knows he is in danger of missing his full payment. Some of his tactics/subs none selections have been very dougie freedmanesque.
You could be right Benny. His substitutions and timings are mystifying.
If he keeps us up I would say he deserves to have a crack with at least some money to spend.
