Off Topic - Steph Curry

I heard a funny comment the other day from NBA 2k makers, that they have tried hard for years to make their game realistic and stop silly 3 pointers from anywhere, then here comes Steph Curry who is a real life Playstation, making outrageous 3 pointers.
and now they have a dilema, cos they don't know how to fix the problem in their game.
from what i've seen of him, mostly during last years run into the finals, he was amazing, and is on another level... Jordan level of greatness.

Maybe LeBron is surprised he will eventually break NBA current shooting records

Couple of days ago he tied the NBA record with 12 successful 3-pointers , with the last 3 pointer hitting the bull's-eye at final buzzer.

I can't get into NBA at all. Really boring.

That said the three pointers do at least show a level of skill.

Steph Curry is outrageous. He plays sport on a level that very few people will ever match. He is up there with some of the best sportsmen of our generation and if he keeps going the way he is, should be remembered as an all time great.

That shot in the buzzer to win the game against Oklahoma City was absolute class.

He's amazing but not all-time great material.

Too small and not good enough defensively.

Also, he wouldn't be anywhere near as successful even during the 90s, let alone before that, when the game was much more physical.

Comparing him to LeBron; LeBron is better at passing, defending, getting to the basket, posting-up, dunking, and he's a much better athlete. Steph is just a better shooter.

You will see a dozen of those buzzer shots during March Madness.

Lol the dude pulls up and shoots from 35 feet how would anyone in the 90s or before that stop him from doing that?

With the use of hand-checking, and by generally roughing him up over the course of 48 minutes.

He doesn't have the physical stature to be able to cope with that particularly well.

Was watching Colin Cowherd this morning on Fox and he is suggesting that what Curry is now doing will change the game over the next 10-20 years moreso than say a LeBron James depite the fact LeBron is a physical monster.

That 3 point stuff against Oklahoma was impressive but did anyone see the game earlier in the season where he bagged a half court shot just after the buzzer at half time which did not count but then bagged a half court shot at the final buzzer that did count, that shat is ridiculous.

Will see if i can find the video.

I know you see a lot of buzzer shots. But I didn't base my whole post around one shot.

Curry does it on a regular basis and always seems to come up big when it matters at the moment.

Lebron fanboy.

Curry averages slightly more assists and steals over his career than Lebron, which would suggest that Lebron isn't a far superior passer or perimeter defender. Posting up, dunking and interior defending are less important for a point guard, so you would expect anyone in that position to be at a lower level to a small forward. Getting to the basket also doesn't matter when you can drain a jump shot from most places on the court.

Why is it so hard for some people to accept that two players can be greats in the same era, whilst having different attributes?

I bet you're the type of person who has to argue over Messi and Ronaldo.

Im not in the least into basketball but they were profiling this dude on the news the other day that was dropping shots from all over the court.

Now i know what his name is

The best player I've ever watched. (Not old enough to have seen Jordan)

Having the greatest offensive regular season of all time. Back to back MVP's is a shoe-in and probably back to back titles for the Warriors.

He can pull up from near the half way line and shoot effortlessly. Completely un-guard able. Other team simply has to hope he has an off night.

Greatest shooter of all time without doubt. Already broke the record for most 3 pointers in a season and there is still a third of the season to go. Was his own record he broke too.

Curry is insane at the moment, doesn't matter where on the court or how many seconds left, you just know he'll hit the shots.
