Was Schneiderlin good? I didn't see the game but I thought someone on the match thread said he'd been fairly anonymous. Good to hear if he played well though; I've got high hopes for Schneiderlin.

Supposed to shield the defence but has demonstrated little capability for that role so far and leaves defenders exposed. Occasional goes to sleep when CBs are looking for the out-ball as well.

Does provide a good press though which Carrick and Bastian don't do.

But is shielding the defence his speciality? I thought Wanyama did that at Southampton? Like you say, I think Schneiderlin's best quality is his energy, his pressing, his interceptions. He gets through a lot of the important dirty work but he does it all over the pitch.

I would sacrifice mata for Jose if push came to shove no question. I will always like him as a player tho.

Something that he'll need to incorporate into his game to replace Carrick effectively as we traditionally only play with one DM. Made his name as B2B .

I like midfields with a passer and a runner. Schneiderlin can be the latter but we'll need a new Carrick before long.

I don't see any other player out there in a similar mould to Carrick in respect of a combination of positioning, assurance on/showing for the ball, interceptions and passing range.

His loss could have a bigger impact than losing Keano.

Carricks loss will come nowhere near the loss of Keano. Get a grip of yourself. We still have not replaced Keano.

Morgan was brilliant today. Our best player. Herrera too was great.

Neither Keane nor Scholes have been replaced. But look around and there aren't many players on that level available.

One could argue Carrick's replacement is at the club already.

Blind is a useful player, not first team standard however, if we wish to get back to the top. A fantastic rotation option.
