Martinez could be gone at the end of the season after this. I know it was 10 men but losing after being 2-0 up means the manager has to take responsibility.

Have I just read that right?

Now I've nothing against Arsenal, infact I like what Wenger has achieved there over the years, but please, please don't come on here and say some of our fans are disgraceful when on your board whenever Arsenal lose it's full of 'Wenger Out' articles!

No wonder Spurs fans question you guys is it Wenger In or Wenger Out week!

Hopefully we start with a new manager with our new investment next season.

Could we have Poch please?

I personally don't follow European football much but many other blues are shouting out for certain manager's abroad.

Martinez has built a good team but he's tactically useless, his subs are baffling to say the least and he's too stubborn to change things when they are clearly not working.

Martinez has always struck me as someone who doesn't ever change from his ideals. 'This is how we play, no matter what the situation is' sort of mentality. Is it still the case?

His way of thinking eventually took Wigan down, and I said a couple of years ago that the longer he was at Everton, the more likely that you'd finish lower and lower each season, until you ended up in the same position as Wigan..

thing is a few weeks ago some of your fans wanted mark hughs until his stoke side started sliding down the table.

I have a few mates of mine at work who are everton fans and there is a clear split between fans who prefer the old school conservative way of playing football that guranteed 5th or 6th and rarely any wins against big sides.

then there is a more younger base that want Everton to actually break into the top 4 and play a cavalier style that has seen martinez actually beat the top teams something Moyes could never do.

Lets face it Martinez always had his doubters and they seem to come around when the team loses.

But how do you blame the manager when he sets up the team well and the team always gets leads then due to poor game management they throw it away? Its not like he is playing.

Spurs fans also have a split against Poch although recent weeks have made it seems like they are all behind him. Some of their fans never wanted him and when they lost against newcastle the same fans booed the team.

You have a good team because Martinez actually gave your younger players a chance and bought good plays in Mccarthy, Mori, Lennon, Delafoue and Lukakau.

In addition to that he developed all your younger players and made them better players.

Given more time he will teach your players to manage games and be more ruthless. All developing teams go through phases like that. Spain, Germany all used to lose games they werent supposed to lose even though they had talented groups. Eventually they learnt how to win amd manage games.

If you sack Martinez you will go backwards in my opinion. Anybody who compares wigan to Everton is clueless about football.Look at the respective squads and you will see the chasm in quality. The wigan team was league 1 quality.Everyone knows this.

Keep the faith in Martinez, it will eventually pay off.Ignore the fans who wanted him sacked from day 1.

How can you keep faith with and excuse a manager who's team has lost at home this season to the likes of West Brom, West Ham, Stoke, Swansea etc, that's unacceptable for a club like Everton

A lot of sense spoken here sir/madame
But unfortunately your reference to national teams doesn't work as they won't lose players if they go through bad patches were as club teams can & do. Also poor game management is partly down to the manager. How long should you give a manager before enough is enough. I admittedly want him gone, I have done since Christmas last season. He has built a decent squad just doesn't seem to know what to do with it.

Ha ha, no you definitely can't have him! Ironically I wanted Martinez that first season you had him and we were lumbered with AVB. I wonder whether Koeman could do well at Everton if there was gonna be the kind of money available that he doesn't have at Southampton. Would be more or less the equivalent of Poch moving from there to Spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good shout with Koeman - he's been at Southampton a couple of years now and had to rebuild on a couple of occasions and still done very well with them, so possibly not one of your flash in the pan types.

At this moment in time, I just want anyone but Martinez, well.... within reason of course
