To be honest CL is weird. Its mainly the teams that are clinical that do well in it. Man Utd for example battered the opposition in all 6 CL group stage games and still got knocked out having 83 shots vs the opposition 41.
We scored 7 and conceded 7 despite having double the amount of shots.

Bullshht. We were cráp and deserved to go out.
Thought you were a pufc fan? You never comment on there I dont believe. Is that just for show?
England's currently 3rd in terms of results in Europe, both for this season in isolation and for the aggregate results of the past 5 years. At the time of writing has more teams still in Europe than any other country bar Spain.
3rd is NOT pi·ss poor, ffs. For every league that's doing better than England's, there are 25 leagues doing worse. I'd like to know how many of the people who use that type of language are actually top 3 at anything they do, even in their own facking neighbourhood.
On the flip side, people should just accept it's pretty damn good without having to make up crappy, largely unsubstantiated excuses for why it isn't top of the pile. It was a few years ago, it will be again at some point in the future, it just isn't now. Live with it.
No 3rd is not pi$$ poor, but given the fact the league is FAR richer than the other countries then it is disappointing to a degree.

Agree it's disappointing Baz, but England ruled the roost for several years not that long ago, have always maintained a strong position and will no doubt be the strongest league at some point in the not too distant future.
Imo the current situation isn't made any easier by the fact that the clubs that were in a dominant position a few years ago are going through different stages of transition in a day and age of immediate results, and this is coupled with an influx of funds that's put others in a better position to compete.
In a way, despite being awash with money -or perhaps precisely because of it- some PL clubs seem to find themselves in a sort of identity crisis, but as happy as the rest of the continent might be to see the PL's current travails in Europe, imo there's also a degree of fear of what you guys might be capable once you get yourselves sorted.
I'm actually quite excited to see what leicester could do in Europe next season. May surprise a few teams.
The CL is all about the teams who have good conversion rates and can absorb the most shots who do well. Look at Chelsea in 2012 for example probably most clinical side and faced most shots per goal conceded.

One thing that's for certain is we will have a good go, I don't think we'll field weakened teams and we're not afraid of anyone. We know our strengths and weaknesses and nothing will change with how we prepare for games.
I honestly think only really Barca, Real, PSG and Bayern are unbeatable, the rest we could definitely have a go at, even the likes of Athletico and Juve. Maybe they would beat us over two legs but we'd give them a game.
We'll be a completely different entity to the rest of the competition and yeah I think we'll do alright because we'll almost certainly be underestimated. I can't wait 😃
