McClaren is a very wise man.
He has no honour except to honour his contract and force people to sack him so he gets his pay off.
We should have seen what he was like when he left us to go to Man Utd when, as Jim Smith said later, the plan had been for McClaren to take over from Jim in due course.
We certainly saw last year what a money chasing haw he is after he scuppered our season with the Newcastle rumours.
No honour, no sense of loyalty and now no job but £3m richer than he was yesterday.
Barsteward!
PS I to use HAW as the real word, and all other variations, is banned for some reason
I hope he chokes on the money...
'We should have seen what he was like when he left us to go to Man Utd when, as Jim Smith said later, the plan had been for McClaren to take over from Jim in due course.'
Peeder, to appoint him a third time would be akin to somebody employing Billy Davies twice
Leading a horse to water ain't the same thing as making it drink; he's been let down by the players at both clubs.
Consider the context of Man United coming knocking when they did; who in their right footballing mind would have turned that down?!!
There's been much speculation as to the chronology of the approach to Clement and the possibility of SM getting wind of it, but whatever the truth of it (a truth we shall never establish) he did choose to stay at DCFC and the players suddenly becoming useless was not his fault, as is evidenced by their continuing capitulations. It's not like players and managers comings-and-goings is a new thing in football and if every time there's speculation a club spirals out of control then what's the point of playing any matches at all? We may as well let the tabloid hacks decide league placings.
He may not be the best coach or manager in the world, or even in Newcastle, but he doesn't deserve the childish vitriol being spewed on here. He raised our stock and profile far more than Barbara's lad ever did or could yet some of you would have that Lego-coiffed prat back in a heartbeat.

I wonder if he will pay the full income tax on the money? Or is he like that hypocrite Jermaine Jenas and legally avoids it with some spurious tax dodge?
Did anyone see Jenas on QT telling the audience that the rich should pay more tax to pay for hardworking nurses/teachers etc? I wondered at the time whether he had formed a company so he would pay20% instead of 45%. If I'd been there I would have asked him.
666 you are a good one to talk when you are constantly slagging off the excellent Keogh.
It will never happen, but I would rather have McClaren back as manager than Wassall. Seriously.
If there is no bad blood I'd have him as interim manager.
There is not a day goes by that I don't marvel at the amount of vitriol that swishes around in 666's head.
He has some reasonably (but not too) decent thoughts about football and the human condition and then he mind appears to suddenly has to flip into a completely un-natural loathings towards certain individuals/ Usually Keogh, who has put in many and consistent sterling performances for Derby over the years. And Nigel. who did great work sorting out Billy and Perno's dreadful legacy and set the club on a very sound foundation.
I'd love 666 to explain carefully just why he hates Keogh and Nigel do much.
please excuse the garbling, but I guess you all know what I mean.
Trying to be a good, I believe in turning the other cheek, letting bygones be bygones, second chances, helping the underdog etc. etc.
And thus I feel a certain momentum developing in eventually reinstating Wee Billy. May not be popular but sometimes you have to make the tough decisions. And it will certainly get the best out of Russell and our Scottish (and celtic), contingent (if we can get him back).
Just a thought
Of all the managerial names people on here have put forward to take over, I would prefer Mac or Nigel to any of them, but I do not suppose it will happen.
What a load of rubbish, all other clubs cast offs with the exception of Warburton.
Lets hope Morris makes one good decision and gets it right this time.
All managers are someones cast-offs Moj. At least these are OUR cast-offs
It could work Heb one short sharp dose of paranoia a trench mentality and a play off victory followed by his quick removal just before he goes on holiday...and gets a call from Fawaz.

666. Seriously, find your brain coz you've clearly lost it.
Derby's players and fans were let down by Mcclaren because they knew he'd lined up his move to Newcastle. As soon as the rumours started, our season collapsed.
And, as we've seen today with Besides being appointed with seconds of Mcclaren leaving. Newcastle aren't averse to lining up their next incumbent.
Bladdy great now all we need is to rid ourselves of the traitor David Camoron and my year will be completye in March whatever happens ferkin dicck head.
Well Paul Simpson has ruined his career by legging it to Newcastle when he was asked to stay. Just think Simmo you could have been in charge now.
