Rio? Is that you?

I really can't see huge numbers leaving and Klopp has already said he's not a fan of the loan system so I wouldn't expect to see many, if any, loans next year.

I can see Caulker staying, Toure may well go (out of contract?) and Enrique obviously.

Perhaps Luis Alberto and Wisdom but I can see Klopp wanting to see them himself before offloading.

The big question marks for me are around our two forwards Benteke and Mario. I think if we're offered half decent money for either they'll go.

That would be it though. The idea that we'd lose the likes of Skrtel, Lucas, Milner etc is just not going to happen IMO.

Only a 4 slice toaster and a 42 inch telly left in Melwood after that.

So you want to start next season with a squad of about 12 players, with our best youngsters loaned out?

How many players are we buying? 15?

We need
Another keeper. Would prefer Mig to stay as backup.
Also a left back who can immediately threaten Moreno's place, not a young prospect 'for the future'.
As it stands now I don't see a way back for Wisdom. We have Flanno and Joe Gomez ahead of him at RB and CB.
Lovren and Lallana to definitely stay. Sell for 10m? What are you smoking?
At CB we already have Toure out Matip in. Another signing here should depend on departures IMO and for me Skrtel would be the prime candidate to be replaced.
Unless someone offers our money back Benteke stays. There will be loadsa money in the prem so he stays unless someone is willing to cough up. I think Benteke has a role to play in the team. Might not always start games but I think he adds a twist and variety as compared to Sturridge or Firmino. These three are very different players and each offers something unique but play the same position mostly. We can harness that to our advantage. We have Ings, Origi, Studge and Firmino so unless Benteke goes we don't need another striker.
In CM Grujic is coming in, again additions to depend on departures, if both or one of Lucas or Allen is leaving. We could also sign someone in AM and play Coutinho wide more often but I would prefer a flying winger (Reus type, not saying we can get him though).
Four first team signings max IMO. GK and LB guaranteed. Two players for CM and AM/winger to depend on departures and availability of players who can go straight in the team.
But do I say.

Stop being impatient.

Let klopp build.

Its not major surgery we need, its two three top quality players.

Balotelli, enrique would be definite leavers. Toure probably as well since matip is due in. Allen is a maybe since grugic is a definite in.

Benteke is probably a leaver depends on who may come in plus we have ings.

Mignolet will no doubt get competition and maybe a few of the youngsters will leave....but that's about it imo.

So, 13 players out, rising to 18-19 if relatively plausible fees are met. Loan out a further 5, and keep a couple as back to 1st choice signings.

26 players in?

Seems reasonable enough to me. 5s

i cant see all those players going, maybe about 3 to 4 if that,we need a hungry squad, with a couple of eliteish type players as the kids call them

Anyone who offered 60M for Coutinho would need their bumps felt. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but he's incredibly inconsistent. The "Spanish heavyweights" aren't going to be remotely interested unless he suddenly ups his game massively.

posted on 12/3/16

Whose place would Coutinho take at one of the big 2 anyway? As a no. 10 or on the wing?

I think to some extent, its a little over used comment regarding Coutinho, that hes inconsistent, because to be fair, he consistently makes our team better when hes in it, although, as as been said, he still needs to up his level, if indeed he sees his future at a Madrid or Barcelona.
Truth is though, even now he wouldn't look out of place in either of their starting 11's.

I agree that Coutinho isn't as inconsistent as is made out.

I can still Barca wanting him at some point because he fits their profile really.

He is a lot fitter than he used to be when he couldn't last more than 60 mins.

I think when people talk about inconsistency it's often down to stats and his stats aren't great. They don't necessarily have to be though.

Iniesta has never had amazing stats. Turan doesn't have amazing stats. Silva doesn't have amazing stats.

Some attacking players are so good at manipulating the ball and seeing and finding space that simple stats like goals and assists don't really tell the story of the player.

I don't think Real will want Coutinho as they are all about the big names and the flavour of the months, but I would be surprised if Barca weren't keeping tabs on him.

His ability is not the type that you can find easily.

Yep. Exactly what we need.

Balotelli
Toure
Enrique
Sinclair
Benteke, dependent on the fee
Bogdan
Wisdom

Those 7 leaving would have little to no effect on first team by leaving and I'd like to see 4-5 top signings come in ready to improve the first team.

Keeper - Butland

Leftback - ?

Top centre mid - ?

Winger / wide forward - ?

Striker - Icardi

Why sell Toure? A very good stand in who's obviously a character in the dressing room who is happy to play a bit part role.

It's people that say stupid things like this that are the most idiotic. Not every player has to be a world class player in the squad.

this
toure is the type of player every team needs. a complete pro.

Sinclair has got to go. With his agent there can be no agreement beneficial to LFC. Get him out ASAP.

I think Toure's contract is up this summer. He's not being sold.

I don't know actually. Matic, Lovren, Sakho and Gomez. May be room for one more but would think that will be Skrtel or a Skrtel replacement.
