Harsh on Lamela Imo was better than Alli just players missed the chances he put on a plate for them.

I'd bump Eriksen to 6.5 & Alli down to a 7

Walker was superb today

I think it's too generous for Lamela if anything. He was a donkey in the second half. No more than a 6 and even that may be pushing it.

Walker was amazing, wondering where the haters are now - he is so clearly better than tripper (and rose better than davies). disagree phenom???

I think dembele was a bit carless today, sloppy and dilly dallied with the ball slowing down our attacks too much. Agree that Lamela played well, 6.5 is harsh

Funny both against Arsenal and now Villa when Lamela has come off we've looked vunerable

I really am surprised when people describe Walker as superb today. Yes he got forwards well and there is no doubt he ran his heart out but god knows how many times he had the opportunity to put a cross in and when he did the cross was crap.

How can that be described as a superb game?

Don't know whether that's true or not, but we can also look less likely of scoring with him at times, when he breaks up attacks by miscontrolling balls and in general wrong decision making. I mean I like his work rate but today really wasn't his best game. I will kind of agree with Chicken this time when he inevitably singles him out.

I've already admitted walker has good games pal there's just no doubting he's a liability and trippier is more dangerous going forward. Didn't see the game today so can't comment on walkers display but all good if he played well

The one think you can guarantee with Lamela is that he always puts in a great shift. Probably our best team player. Everytime he gets in a good attacking position i expect him to bend one in the top corner, just wish he would shoot more. If he had Kane's confidence then he would be some player, his talent is there no question.

Theres method in my madness, yes Alderweireld was near flawless but cmon mate he was playing against Estede,, Gil, and Ayew. if had been tested more then i would have given him a much higher score than 7.5.

right of the top of my head he crossed for lamella's chance. does tripper get an assist with each cross?

plus don't you see the fact he was up and down all game means he was dominating the right side. Ayew had no joy bar the chance at the death. domination.

Agree about Hugo`s kicking, it seems to be getting worse and one day it will cost us a goal against a better team.

It is staggering how weak his kicking is, an international keeper should be way better.

Lamela is becoming a vital defensive cog as well as a good attacking threat, he does a lot of the dirty work and is good a closing down and regaining possession. It is noticeable when he is subbed off how we miss him.

Not picking on Alli as like everybody I love the kid but He needs to improve his first touch and not attempt so many flash fancy flicks. If he could just concentrate on playing the more obvious simple pass a bit more and ensure we maintain possession that would improve his and the teams effectiveness.

Grandspur

If you watch the game again at some point you will see that he did put in some good crosses and hit a sweet strike at goal.
You always harp on about crosses into the box but it was his all round game that was impressive.

Yep, Alli has been trying to be too clever of late, attempting fancy flicks and hollywood passes etc, sometimes his first touch has been missing also.

I`m not knocking the lad too much because he has been very good this season but sometimes a simple pass or lay off is a preferred option.

Billy the yid.

I love a player with confidence and Alli certainly has the talent to back it up but sometimes as you say he does overplay. as he is only a kid you can see a lack of maturity at times but thats just a minor flaw in his game.

The great thing is he is just going to get better and better.

Kyle Walker today: 5 tackles, 2 interceptions, 6 clearances, 3 shots (2 on target), 1 chance created & 80% pass completion. Impressed. #COYS

Best way to describe Lloris today is 2 safe hands and 2 unsafe feet

Of course I saw what he did ffs and I am nto saying he did not have a good game and I am not saying he did not work hard but how anybody can be superb with those stats amazes me.

There was one time there was a great ball laid to him wide right, he had nobody near him yet he miscontrolled and ran the ball out for a goal kick then you lot try to tell me he was "superb" ffs.

Yes he played ok but siperb? I dont think so.

80% pass rate is superb?

What the hell does that make Dembeles 97% in the NLD then? Thats superb 97%, 80% is a good game which is what I consider he had.

I hope Poch doesn't try coach the 'fun' out of Alli's game. He's a kid, enjoying his football so if he wants to try a few flicks good luck to him. He's an instinctive player, let him enjoy it as we do when they come off.

Anyway whats this thing with stats ffs do you really think they indicate something?

So if I was playing and had 10 shots (all on target) that my grandmother could have saved I have been superb have I?

Quote all the stats you like all that proves to me is that you are clueless when you watch a game if you use stats afterwards to prove something.

Opta stats made Leon Brittan of Swansea the best midfield player in europe the year they got promoted which says it all about stats.

All I know grand is Walker much better for us than Trippier

OP

Villa came into the game once Poch made two negative subs. He don`t seem to be learning very quickly. I couldn`t believe it when Mason and Carrol were brought on instead of Chadli and Son.

Poch baffled me with bringing Carroll on.
