Wenger has trained everything he did well out of him
I'm wengers biggest critic but surely even wengers teaching should be able to show someone how to make a simple pass
He should have had about six months experience playing CF for us by now
I watched him closely in the Spurs game and he looked like a player who wants out to me.
He is frustrated with his bottling team-mates (see quotes when he went home the other week). At the end of the Spurs game he just booted the ball and walked straight off the pitch, not shaking anyone's hand (opposition nor team-mates), nor going over and applauding your fans.
Wouldn't be surprised to see more quotes in the next international break appearing when he goes off (we had this with Suarez every time he went away with Uruguay), and a move in the summer.
Probably go back to Italy with Juve when they sell Pogba and have the funds for a big bid, or Guardiola might fancy him at City.
I always felt he was a greedy player, but his goals made up for his greed. But now.......what on earth does the Manager say to him on the training ground? Alexis has been infected with the teams malaise.
Still a 1000x better than your beloved Theo.
This article isn't about Walcott
It's about Sanchez who has flopped big time this season
Does he look physically fit? Hardly had a break bcos of Copa America, perhaps he's struggled to recover that extra half yard and his confidence has suffered as a result.
Just speculating, mind.
Looked a lot better when Giroud came off and Welbeck came on.
Players like him often seem to start failing with us after 18 months .
They lose what was great about them when they came. Bit like arshavin. The shooting ability is always the first to go. Same happened with rosicky
He looks better on the right side because he is less likely to cut on to his righ
Somewhat paradoxically, I think his biggest problem is the lack of technical skill befitting a player in that price category. Yes, he can do spectacular, but equally, he can be dispossessed or give the ball away cheaply on too many occasions. Things like misplacing simple passes, attempting to retain the ball when passing it is an obvious choice etc. I think that is why Barca let him go, he is just not good enough technically to play at the highest level. He can score goals and that gets him out of jail but without goals, it is difficult to ignore this problem.
Yeah it was clear that technically he is not fit for Barca and in Suarez they have player who is on another lever to him.
Yes everyone goes on a drought when it comes to goals but his overall play is at time of that of an amateur
He needs players around him to play fluid quick football and on current form Giroud isnt that player. Sanchez is having to keep the ball longer than he used to and isnt playing the intricate passes. Its partly down to Girouds poor decision making atm, making poor runs and poor decisions on when to shoot or pass. The more I watch for it the more obvious it is.
But that doesnt excuse other players not contributing and giving him an outlet as much ads they used to. Its down to the team as a whole. Its spread through the team. Sanchez and Ozil be probably go in the summer or just see out their contracts if they have to. We should cash in on them and buy a top striker with the money first and replacements for them second.
Top player just had one of those seasons with injuries and knocks. He'll be back to being deadly I reckon next year. Too good not to.
You haven't learnt. You said Özil was another Arshavin, didn't turn out well.
Anyway I've already said what the problem is and it's Giroud and him do not work. One has to go out the team and for me it's the big man.
Giroud is so stiff and occupies the middle that Alexis tries to take up a creative role and receives deeper than he should.
This isn't his game he was much better when him and Theo/Welbz were running into each others spaces and fluidly rotating with one another.
Wenger's a fool to not see this and his loyalty to Giroud is what is holding us back. Look at what Ozil & Welbeck did within 20 mins of playing with each other, than Ozil and Giroud have done all month.
Yes Özil has adapted to Giroud more this season but his level is raised behind Welbeck/Theo as is Alexis. You can kill 2 birds here yet Wenger persists with Giroud is incredible
I'm not concerned with Alexis decline so much because I'm convinced this is the reason. He was good against Spurs as coincidentally Welbeck started.
This is all with average forwards like Welbz/Theo imagine we actually brought in quality CF with movement and ability to drift out to the flanks?
Never said Ozil was the next arshavin.
Arshavin started well and then faded like Sanchez.
Ozil is the opposite
I think he's off tbh doesnt want to be a part of this, no chance of winning the epl with our current team. Likely suiters Man City, Bayern, PSG or Juve almost guaranteed a title with those 4 teams. From what I've heard he wasnt happy with our transfer business at the start of the season. Complained about signing 1 player when Barca with transfer embargo signed more.
