These swap deals very rarely come off.
Cant say I watch much of Real Madrid, but seems to have gone backwards since joining them, plenty of ability, but it will depend on the new manager and how he wants to set up/play.
If im honest, I just feel he would be Oscar part II.
as a madrid fan i would be happy to sway james for hazard
This rumour was circulating for a while, but having watched more of James, the less excited I have been about bringing him to Chelsea. He seems like another Oscar. Turns up every other game with a few tricks and maybe a wonder goal, but then is quiet for the next 5-6 games.
I would rather keep Hazard to be honest, and look for a good replacement.
Say no to a slightly improved version of Oscar. We should keep Haz and hope he regains his form. When on form the guy is freaking awesome.
james is carp they would need to do better than that for me
If Hazard was in form I'd personally have only accepted a cash deal, but given anyone will be unlikely to pay the minimum 70mil we should be demanding for him at this moment, we can't be too picky. If the cash on top of Rodriguez was at least 30mil+ I'd take that. The loss Real would make on Rodriguez would be their problem given we have no incentive to sell, PSG would undoubtedly offer more.
From our prospective if any swap deal went through. Rodriguez would be exactly the type of player we could afford to take a chance on without CL football, especially if we sell our own hit and miss player Oscar in the same window. If it didn't work, at 24 y/o he'll have plenty of resale value.
James and Oscar very similar
I have only seen a bit of him for Madrid myself. He had a great world cup, if we can get that form plus 40 mill then I would consider it as Hazard doesn't seem to be interested anymore and as The Devil's Advocate's Advocate - I Represent Him. We have plenty of time to sell if it doesn't work out
No thanks, if we were going to go for a swap for a Madrid player I would hope that we go for varane.
James Rodriguez, Karel Poborský.......did anyone actually think differently and I include the Madrid hierarchy?
A man of the moment, commercial vanity signing whose stock was only ever going to decline once the hype had plateaued.
Hazard is one of the most exciting players in the world and there is more to come. Unfortunately I don't think that will be with us and I'm not convinced his heart is in it with us so selling either this summer or next is probably sensible but we're under no pressure and Madrid or who ever will have to pay serious money, we'll not be fobbed off with a part time player with an inflated value.
I agree with most of the above comments - James was a big name signing after he looked good during the world cup.
Real Madrid NEED to move him on - he is a huge financial burden to them, and doesn't contribute much to their side. They shoe-horn him into the team already teeming with attacking ability.
Hazard on the other hand is truly magical - as seen by his performances last year. His attitude may have changed, but he clearly still has the ability. And he is on a long-term contract at Chelsea. I'd say we have the upper hand. If Real Madrid want him - they will have to pay big money. Which we could then invest in players who actually perform rather than live on their reputation (like James).
I think RM is only testing waters , before goiing full assault in the summer. So, RM wants to flogg their flop signing to Chelsea !! Do they really think Chelsea transfer committee is run by mugs ??
RM will ditch Rodriguez regardless. If we are interested in him I would rather we hold out for a good reduced rate and not involve Hazard at all.

Begs the question, doesen't it Brum ?
I think we should offer them Mikel in exchange for Ronaldo!
When they reply with "Don't be so ridiculous", just reply, "Well you started it"!!
