de geas been our best player for three straight years, thats unheard of for a keeper, how can people still underrate his contribution to us.

He willl more than likely go to a team in the summer, he needs to be competing for things. not fighting for 6th place and playing europa league ties.

Hope barca come for him tbh, so a he can win what he deserves and b so madrid dont get their undeserving poaws on his talents.

Maybe the right managerial appointment will persuade him to stay, but alas it may be too late.

I genuinely think DDG is the best keeper in the world. I think at times his efforts for us are overplayed by the media, in an attempt to say he carries us. But at the sane time, he makes so many brilliant saves whilst never making anything that could be close to a "howler."
Neuer is a top keeper but I've seen him make more mistakes just watching Bayern in the CL than I've ever seen DDG make.

VDS had possibly one of the best back fours of all time in front of him in G.Nev, Vida, Rio and Evra and was a fantastic keeper to boot.

It is unlikely we will see a back four like that any time soon (playing for United) and therefore I don't see him challenging the clean sheet record. Also, as you said, as good as DDG is, he does have the occasional mistake in him.

VDS was a better shot stopper then DDG. Van der saar could save all types of shots. DDG plays in a much better territorial dominating side hence why he doesn't have much to do apart from these 2 Liverpool games.

Stats prove Van Der saar had a lot more to do as well.

There have been plenty of games where the opposition have not had much of a sniff, then get a great chance out of nowhere, only for DDG to stop them.

The guy would only be better for having a settled back four.

You could just as easily ponder on how the other two would have coped with the conditions DDG faces

The great dane also had some amazing defenders ahead of him. 99 he had Irwin, a prime stam and a prime nev. as well as others like bruce, pallister etc during his time.

makes me feel a tad sorry for DDG, the best he has is smalling, and lets be honest he isnt a patch on defenders weve previously had.

I don't think I could ever give a proper opinion on Schmeichel relative to our other keepers. As I was a kid just watching this green giant and he was almost like a super hero. Newcastle away in 96 has to be one of the best goal keeping performances of all time though. Given the importance of the match and the number of top saves he made

Id take Schmeichel over him still.

I love how De Gea went through that very difficult period and has developed into one of the worlds best keepers.

I prefer him to Neur cause Neur is an arrogant so and so! The way he swans around miles outside his box, I know he's told to do this and is great at it but it annoys me! Love seeing him lobbed although it doesn't happen often.

I remember seeing De gea live at Anfield a few years ago and he looked like a skinny kid in goal, at time I thought this lad will never make it he's too slight etc. It was for a cup game and was right at the height of when De Gea was being criticized by everyone.

But well I was wrong he's unreal, defo my favourite keeper, he pulled off a few saves last night, one was offside but it was a reflex save with his right hand, not the greatest save he's made but it just stuck me how easy and natural he made it look.

He should have done better fro our goal but not many players would put the ball where Couthino did, had Cout, like most players would, either smashed it or tried to cut it back De gea would most likely have blocked it, he did leave slightly too big a gap but it was a world class finish.

Schmeics was a great leader and organiser as well as a great keeper, something we desperately need.

Three very different keepers, all world class.... We have been blessed in that area

DDG is world class and has been for a couple of seasons now. Wouldn't swap him for anyone.

Every keeper has a mistake in them.

De Gea very rarely makes a mistake, and his coming for crosses has also improved.

The guy makes saves he has no right to.

the best keeper in the world for me.

on a side note...hafi youre a . . . what used to be remotely humerous is just boring.... no one finds you amusing anymore.

De Gea is easily one of the best keepers in the world, Utd need him to stay so better get the fax machine serviced again this summer.

Schmeichel was the best keeper in the world and seemed to change what goalies do in one-on-ones, used to love the Great Danes flying starfish leaps in the face of attackers which put them off or he would block the shot

posted on 18/3/16

To be honest, I thought he made a mistake last night.

I agree melts. Left far too much space and made the finish easy for Coutinho

Any replacements? because unless we pay him a salary as high as your top tier striker, DDG is going. Maybe if Mou or whoever can convince him of his philosophy and process towards returning United to grea- wait, I used philosophy and process. Admin, ban these words!

I loved VDS and he was a top keeper but our fans massively overrate him because of the defence he had in front of him.

DDG is a better GK.
