Slovenia is a long way away
Not as far as LA, but definitely further away than Glasgow and probably Stockholm.

It was as much to show the quality of opposition as opposed to the distances haha

Looks like I will be going to LA

Some much more meaty ties there than the 2008 ones, Quorn especially.

This is brilliant, to get the chance to go up against Celtic, PSG and Barca is well exciting 😃

Should play your reserves in the games against Barca and PSG, don't want to give anything away before facing them in the Champions League latter stages

Those games v hinckley and quorn were a couple of humdingers. 5-4 and 8-4 were they? Thought we were in for a tough league 1 campaign after I saw them

I remember some kid called Andy King scoring a beauty in one of them too

I was there for that Hinckley match. Quite an enjoyable day out if I remember correctly, although I thought it ended with something like a 4-1 win. I remember thinking that Matty Fryatt needed to move clubs and I couldn't see him doing anything even in League 1. Fortunately Nigel Pearson didn't see things the same way.

I'll be there too mate. My sister in Law lives in LA so works out well. Had hoped there may be a game on the east coast over here. but no....bloody Stockholm!!

Incidentally, am I the only one who thinks of our League 1 season and thinks "the good old days"?

I know what you mean Dunge. I wouldn't change this season for the world, but there are many things that have come with success that I don't like:

1. No games on a Saturday. Ever.
2. Pressure. Horrible pressure.
3. Nerves. I feel sick all the time now. It was so much easier when I was just depressed.
4. Forums. We can no longer chat between the 8 of us about our club. We have to accommodate other fans who support different clubs. I miss the days of JG having a moan and then 3 of us moaning back.
5. Plastics. All these plastic fans we now have. You're not hardcore like me. I was there during the David pleat era you know!
6. Attention. Stop talking about us media people. It makes me nervous again.
7. Atrogance. All of a sudden we're arrogant. Think we're one of the big boys. Eating ahead of ourselves. When actually we just feel sick. Sick with nerves.
8. Nerves.
9. People want our players. Why did nobody want Beckford?? But now Mahrez everyone wants. Fickle.
10. Nerves. It's awful.

Bring back Pleat, Administration and League 1. Then we can prove we're real fans again 😉👍

But football made sense back then. Sure, we were poor, but we made the best of what we had. We admired Steve Howard for his physicality and hold-up play; the word "donkeysaurus" never even entered our minds as we discussed him. We got to answer big, life-affirming questions such as "Just what does Walsall looked like in the snow?" We all learned different tunes to whistle to ourselves as we pretended that Milan Mandaric wasn't a crook. How can anyone say these weren't good times?

Now we find ourselves top of the Premier League, rich club after rich club having lined up to shoot themself in the foot, Spurs fans furious with us because we might be stealing their trophy and Arsene Wenger justifying his continued employment with the explanation that his team managed to beat us twice. And now Barcelona fans are looking forward to the opportunity of a friendly glory match against us in Stockholm. I don't know whether I'm goming or coing anymore, I tell you.

Steve Howard. That's a player we should bring back over Mahrez.

He wouldn't get muscled off the ball like Mahrez does. And no fancy overhead kicks missing the target. He'd just head the ball, the goalkeeper and the referee in to the net.

That was real footballer.

And we didn't have players swanning off on international duty then. No, they trained in the Leicester rain during international breaks like they should.

Pretty crazy isnt it.
I went to my first game with my dad aged 7 in 1980.
Ive been through all the highs and many lows as a Leicester fan,... Gordon Milne, David Pleat, Hamilton, Mark McGhee, Craig Levein but to name a few ughhhhhhh. and now we are, 2016 with the Godfather, Claudio Ranieri at the helm, top of the Premier League, our global brand growing by the day, Champions League football almost assured for next season, invitation to play in the International Champions Cup with the likes of Barcelona, PSG....WOW!!! just WOW!!!!

A future pub quiz question on our change of fortunes which looks like it will happen:
'Which team has taken part in both the Champions League and the Johnstones Paint Trophy?'

I think I'm going to go to the Celtic game. Might invite Arro as I have a business relationship with Celtic; if he is in the country of course and up for it. Need to check the situation.

I really enjoyed our League One season and think back fondly but I don't miss the 80's, awful players, awful managers (for the most part) and awful crowds, 13k was s big gate and for me nah don't miss that. The 90's on the other hand...

Rarely comment as I don't get to see the games (only brief highlights) but I used to have a season ticket for 8 years before moving to Melbourne in 09. How far have we come, well people used to laugh when I told them I supported Leicester, not anymore....if fact when my son goes to school in his LCFC shirt all the kids know recognise the club straight away.

Agree though I'm a bag of nerves and find myself waking up at 4am to check the scores....

I was wearing my City shirt in Brizzy the other day and I had people wanting to talk to me about how well we're doing and they're rooting for us. We're not Lychester anymore ha ha 😂
