I remember loving OFAH as a kid but i watched some again recently and couldnt work out why i liked them.
Was the same when I rewatched Animal House and National Lampoons christmas vacation. For some reason comedy seems to get outdated much more easily than other formats.
I still laugh all the way through christmas vacation though. I think its more the memories.
Cheers was the greatest ever.
Always Sunny in Philadelphia is easily the funniest comedy show still going.
Agree on Curb Your Enthusiasm as well.
Black Books was probably the best British one.
So in summary, I don't have much to add.
Except that 30 Rock needs a mention
In no particular order, here are some of my faves
Curb your enthusiasm
Nighty night
I'm Alan partridge
The Office
Reginald Perrin (original with Leonard Rossiter, not that clunes crap)
Extras
Operation good guys
Oh I missed Blackadder and Bottom off my list
Only Fools and Horses has really not aged well. Was funny in its time though.
British comedy seems to age far worse than American comedy for some reason. For example I could happily sit and watch a Phil Silvers show marathon today, it would be relevant and not at all cringey. However the same can't be said for the "classic" British sitcoms like Allo Allo or Dads Army.

OFAH was good for for first couple of series then became utter pash.
Jason and Lyndhurst are crap actors.
Toiler - a bit like your Beatles' comments - you are absolutely entitled to not like/enjoy OFAH - but then you then fly in the face of the views of many millions of others by making personal and derogatory insults - not good, mate

Just being truthful.
Game on - can't believe I forgot that.
First matt was best (played therapy? Full blast middle of the night) but both were good. Samantha Janus in her prime though. Wow.
Steptoe and Son.
Til death us do part.
Soap.

Did it not transpire that the Goodies was a lot more nasty and racist than everyone remembered?
Talking about not aging well. The best ever example of that has to be Rab C. It is unwatchable now.

Curly, you should at least watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I can't imagine you not liking it.
I think I'm going to download game on and rewatch it.
Just to confirm Sam Janus was as hot as I remember

It is American, but it is A-typical.
Basically imagine Basil Fawlty trying to live in Hollywood. That's what Curb is like.
Ongoing:
Trailer Park Boys
Always Sunny
South Park
