Iles can't cope he's lost it having a go at Ed to try and hide his own failings. The Beano and MI could and should have done more than just sit back and eat their way through the free ride not once stopping to ask "hang on where did Ed get all this money from and did he really lend it to the club" A quick look at the basics of Ed had 98m and lent the club how much should have set alarm bells ringing when Ed had lent the club 80m at the very latest.
The Beano and Marc in particular have been out done big time there's no use to be had by crying to us in print when they didn't do their job in the first place.
Mark could definitely said more and been a proper reporter instead of trying to foster a relationship with the hierarchy of the club who didn't want to know.
He let himself down and the fans.
Today in the Beano is a classic Marc obviously doesn't do sums so he speculates about who will be manager courtesy of other peoples social network posts with a top up recycled story around Phil Brown.
Now if he did some sums he would add up player wages highlighting those expensive ones have a think about how much we paid NL and Co and then wonder how much it may cost to lure a new management team to the club perhaps then he could think of a few decent questions to ask Dean and Ken you know like where is all this extra money we need going to come from. He could even water that down by simply asking how long will it be before the club are at a breakeven point and no longer losing money.
I would say the club will be able to break even the 2017/18 season when most of the high earners will have been shifted. The problem is surviving until then. I doubt the club will unless someone works a miracle in this summer's transfer window. Don't forget the loan market will not exist next season. As for the manager it's fairly obvious Phillips will be given a chance as it's the cheapest option and as long a he doesn't have a disaster in the next 8 games deserves a crack at it.
Yes it looks like Marc waits for a few tit-bits to be presented to him and then puts a little story together. Whatever happened to investigative reporting? Perhaps it has never existed at The Bolton News.
I'm not sure what will happen regarding the next manager. I can't see Big Sam being sacked, but..........................you never know. If he doesn't keep Sunderland up, anything could happen.
Now Pasty, I know you will rubbish that possibility and of course there is his wages to be considered but with his history with the club and the two main reasons for him not coming back now having been removed from the equation, you never know.
However, I won't be holding my breath but it would be a fairy-tale conclusion to our managerial problems.
Welcome Jimmy Phillips, our new manager.
Now now swie you shouldn't try and read my mind as I wouldn't rubbish the idea the big man is getting on a bit and may fancy a lazy back water job where he could put his feet up and manage a club.
As for Benny surviving until 2017/8 may be a problem if the new duo can't arrange some borrowing to get us there I still have this feeling they are banking on selling a couple of young un's for big bucks to save them another trip to London.
The trouble is although the youngsters have done reasonably well, They are far from the finished product so probably wouldn't command the sort of fee that Deano may be thinking of. If that's the case will he let them go for a much smaller amount and leave us really short of talent.
It seems quite obvious that the likes of Mavies aren't going to be the cash cows that we once thought they may be.
Who in their right mind would buy Madine. Lennon was conned into thinking he would be a good asset by scoring a few goals in pre-season. He should have checked his record more thoroughly before signing him. Then there's Dervite. Not really impressed. How long has he got on his contract?
Clough and Co for 5m is mega bucks when you only had a quid to buy the club with is more in line of what I was thinking something like 5 for 5m when all deals are done.
Most players out of contract 2017 inc dervite. http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/bolton-wanderers-squad-list/
Not much sign of the finances to get us to 2017 and also tie down any players we may want to keep this idea of building using youth looks a non starter if we lose the best of the crop to date this summer in order to pay the bills.
Blood and sand Benny, if we can't get rid of that shower, we really are up the creek.
Pasty 5 for 5 million is probably about right. if the club can get that they may be able to hold out but with a lot of big earners still on the books, if we can't sell them, well as the song goes, there may be trouble ahead.
You are right regarding the young players. Sell the jewels in the crown and the crown is almost worthless. It looks like starting again from scratch.
Going back to the Beano have you all noticed this morning Jimmy stating this comical quote saying he doesn't know the SS plan perhaps he should have also queried is there is a plan any sort of plan.
“I have concentrated solely on working with the players in the early part of the international break but between now and Saturday I’d like to think I can sit down with Dean and see what his plans are,” he said.
Perhaps the Beano could run a story on working behind the scenes at Bolton Wanderers waiting to find out if you are for the chop the day to day uncertainty in the place where life is now grim and full of uncertainty.
Pasty i read that piece and what came to mind is that this is the second time he has mentioned that he wanted to speak to Deano regarding finding out what his plans are. Is the club that skint they can't afford a few telephone calls?
Communications were bad enough under Eddie's and Gartside's regime but when the manager of the team can't get in touch with the CEO, it looks as though the fans have no chance.
I believe the delay in meeting is due to Dean waiting on his tailor making up a new suit with a special fax sized back pocket !
AH! makes perfik sense.
It's to be hoped the suit is ready before the end of the season.
I see by the fans response to the Beano's poll, that Jimmy isn't fancied as our next manager. We'll just have to hope Sam get's the push. The rest of the names with the possible exception of Brown who will cost money, don't inspire me.
Sports Shield Ltd has a new note on its Filling history-- 'First Gazette notice for compulsory strike-off'.--
has also not handed in its Annual Returns due 3rd Feb '16
Surely that would have been Eddie's responsibility? The annual returns that is.
Brett left the building so it's over to new chairman Ken to pick up the accounts. The silence indicates he may have lost his pen as well as his voice
sports shield ltd is owned by Deano
It's Sports Shield Ltd that hasn't filed. Since the sole director and shareholder is one Dean Christopher Holdsworth, that would be down to him! He is also the sole shareholder and director of Sports Shield Investments Ltd and of Sports Shield BWFC Ltd.
Won't be able to unravel much of the corporate structure behind the takeover until BWFC and Burnden Leisure file updated annual returns. Pre-takeover, BWFC was 100% owned by Burnden Leisure; Burnden Leisure was mostly owned by Fildraw plus a few thousand small individual shareholders. Fildraw is not incorporated in the UK so there the trail goes cold but one assumes that Edwin Davies owned it, or further companies owned by him did so.
Presumably one of the Sports Shield group of companies has bought ... what? BWFC from Burnden Leisure? 90-odd % of Burnden leisure from Fildraw? Fildraw from heaven knows who?
That was trick confusing us !
So has anybody submitted correct accounts on time in the little hamlet of Bolton ?
Frilly Draws is the Davies family trust details are stored deep under Douglas in some old mine workings Ed handed the trust over to his heirs to run under his direction some time ago.
Marc Iles is absolutely right, the communication between board and fans has been poor. I think this has led to animosity between the 2, when the reality i think should be much different

So the annual returns should have been filed 3rd Feb 2016. Deano didn't take control till around 10th March 2016. Either Deano agreed to be responsible for filing the returns or Ed has suckered him again.
Perhaps Ed was too busy inserting clauses into the contract of sale and forgot to let Deano know he hadn't filed the returns.
BWFCCLEGG, to be honest the fans haven't been kept up to date for some time and it just shows that Eddie and Gartside held them in contempt.
That is the reality and you are right it could have been very different had there had been people in charge who gave a fig for the fans.

I'll drop the penny on your head.
