Look at the amount of people talking about GOT because of JS death cliffhanger.
They won't lose viewers over it, people will be speculating during the off season and everyone will want to see who it was.
This season's been excellent except for 2 incidents... Glen surviving at the dumpster, which was a bit silly (apart from he is lucilled in the Comics)
And the cliff hanger...
They could easily have shown the death last night and had people still tune in in droves next season. The stuff with Carol was stupid. Her reasoning as to why she left was stupid.

Agree to a certain extent.... But the minute one of the pages leaks a pic or info, every clickbait entertainment site/Facebook page etc will be sharing and reporting on it
The only way to avoid seeing it somewhere is to stay off the Internet
So shows should not have cliff hangers anymore, or plot twists, just because of social media meaning people can find out earlier?
Would make for very boring tv.

It was the most pointless cliffhanger ever being that it spent all season building up to something that we had to wait until next season to see.
It was done for stupid and cynical reasons. Andrew Lincoln even made some pretty false claims about how sickening the last episode would be.
Fair enough. I haven't actually seen it, was talking more broadly about cliff hangers etc.
Got bored with Walking Dead during season 2, same thing over and over again.
Such a stupid way to do it. What could have been a huge amazing moment, was just a slap in the face and when we do find out it won't have even a fraction of the effect it would have
I said it would be a cliffhanger on your thread yesterday. I haven't seen it yet. It won't stop me from tuning in next series though. No doubt there will be leaks before next season's premiere.
The worst episode this season was the one where Rick and Daryl were chasing Jesus around, and ended up losing the van full of supplies. It was just a stupid episode. Other than that it's actually been pretty great this season although I haven't seen the finale yet.
The episode where they set the water on fire was just brilliant, and probably the best episode yet.

who got killed?
1)purely on what I saw abraham/daryl "especially the take it like a man" line
2)based on comics, you know who but that will be totally anti-climatic to leave as cliff hanger
3)Whose death will make maximum impact at this stage to the group? Maggie! this will be a dark and twisted route the show makers can take. I am not sure even they have the bottle to do this at least i hope not.
Not gonna read the comments just in case you comic nerds drop spoilers...but thought the episode was good, very well paced feeling of dread, despair and desperation.
There are some ISIS visual references that help ramp up the dread.
