Armenian brandy

Went on a long weekend in Madrid. My ex-girlfriend at the time spoke fluent French and Spanish. I found out that the other Madrid derby (Rayo vallecano vs Real Madrid) was on that weekend. I asked where we can get tickets but was told that it was a sell out. My ex then stepped in and asked again, in Spanish. The guy at the hotel reception told her of a place to go in some back street where it might be possible to get some tickets.
We got there and my ex asked again. We got 2 tickets at face value. Spur of the moment thing and was only because one of us spoke the language.
At the 3 sided stadium we watched john toshack's team go 2 nil down at half time only to spawn a 2-3 win at full time. Fernando Morentes was ace.

Armenian brandy

Georgian brandy is better. I've had both. In fact Armenia imports brandy from Georgia but it's difficult to find Armenian brandy in Georgia. Only in Armenian restaurants.

Even better than the brandy is the wine. They have a crazy amount of varieties of grapes from region to region which gives each region a unique flavour.

Which reminds me, I ended up at a Georgia v Ireland game, in which Ireland scored in injury time to win the game. I got my bet up but the fans were furious. They spent the whole game abusing the manager and players. Ketsbaia really was woeful for them. He refused to play any of the up and coming young players, couple even playing in the likes of Serie A and Lique 1 and he preferred to play the older players who failed every game.

I wanted to buy. Georgian shirt and apparently they were hard to come by as they didn't produce them but Addidas gave them some old shirts as they had no money to buy them. Hence not having their names on the back.

Around 1980, my Grandad took me to where he grew up near Newcastle but we actually stayed the week in a B&B in Bootham Crescent, York.

York were playing Blackpool in midweek and we went in for the 2nd half, cost something like 50p to get in.

York got thumped 4-1, they were something like 3-1 down before we got in.
