I don't really understand what you expect Giggs to do. I've seen a few comments like this, like Giggs is supposed to stand up to LVG in the middle of a dressing room and overturn his decisions. He probably doesn't agree with some of what LVG does, he may well have had private discussions with him about it, but he is never going to go public and undermine LVG is he. Ridiculous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Saved me some typing.
I'd expect him to walk away from the club hand in his notice and tell the media exactly what he thought of LVG pile of cap.. Might of got more backing as a manager if he did...
Well if he is as important to the club as so many on here believe then he should carry some weight with the board.

He is the assistant, he may well disagree with a lot of what LVG says, but he isn't going to cause an obvious bust up. That's bad for everybody.

Because that's what you want from a manager, to run away when things are hard and blab to the media.

There's never a plane when you need one most.
Agree Play-a-maker, I always thought it was a bit of a fad but we need a DOF. Woodward clearly knows little about the footballing aspect.
Maybe Gill, like Fergie, was a dying breed?

The boardroom is an even bigger issue than LVG. More interested in sponsorship and commercial deals than titles.
Why they didn't sack LVG towards the end of December is as baffling as some of the decisions LVG has made, they could have appointed Giggs for the remainder of the season and told him it was now a trial by fire as there was no other choice. It would have solved the LVG problem and allowed them to see if Giggs is the next Pep or the next Bryan Robson in terms of management
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree.. In regards to Giggs LVG did an interview around xmas saying he gets paid to sit on his bum while giggs does most of the training.. So does this mean giggs is as much as to blame as LVG?
Giggs, one of my fav players when I was younger.. Is he really that selfish where he's putting his own agenda over the club he has loved and played for his whole life.. Can he not see what LVG is doing the team..

To be fair I dont think Gill was exactly Mr 'no it all' about football. He was, like the club, very lucky to have someone beside him in SAF who pretty much ran the footballing side of things alongside trusted scouts.
SAF was Mr Manchester United for 20 plus years and whatever people say it was always going to be difficult to replace someone so hugely influential.
Just a thread for people who fancy a moan about how we currently are as a club.
.................
You could have just added to any of the twenty plus that were on here after yesterdays game, or even during it.
We have the worst group of fans on this site by some way.
This may be a little out there but could Giggs become DoF?
He'd give us a link to the past success
He clearly knows about the game and what it takes to be a top player
He is still enough of a name to attract top players and 'sell' United to them.
He knows what United is all about
Judging by his extra-marital activities it seems that he is ruthless when needed
Not saying that it would work, and it does depend on whether he wants to become a manager or not, but it could work.
Any more news on our supposed interest in A.Madrid's DOF ?
