Not sure that's true is it.
Lovren, Sakho, Can, Henderson, Origi, Sturridge all six footers I think.
Grujic and Matip are big lads as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino is actually pretty tall as well.
OP - Shorter teams than us manage to defend crosses properly. A few inches of height is not going to make you track runners better or be pulled out of position less.
And nobody is going to say no to another Mascherano or Coutinho because of height. Or if they do then they're crazy.
Grujic is 6'9" so that's us sorted.
We do have a small team which I think does have an impact on defending set pieces. I appreciate that defending set pieces isn't just about height and physicality, but I think it does have an impact, especially in the Premier League.
I'm sure that Klopp will have recognised this and is looking to address it, in fact he already has bringing in Matip & Grujic.
The criteria I'm hoping to be applied in the summer is that our manager and his team decides who he gets to bring in. None of this "committee signing" nonsense please.
Well looking at the teams lining up vs dortmund, we were much sorter than them as far as I could see. Maybe I'm just crazy

Quite a long but interesting read on this
The only criteria should be quality.

Interesting.
I still don't think tall players are necessarily the answer though. Certainly not as a major criteria.
I just double checked back at the height of probably our best midfield in recent memory - Gerrard (6 foot), Alonso (6 foot) & Mascherano (5 foot 8 inchs).
It's pretty similar to now - Henderson (5 foot 11 inchs), Can (6 foot) & Lallana/Coutinho (5 foot 8 inchs/5 foot 7 inchs).
Also, Lovren and Sakho are both 2 inches taller than Carragher. Skrtel only 1 inch smaller than Hyypia.
My point is basically, height doesn't matter. It's the quality of the player that's not right.
That said, the point in the article that did resonate with me was the full backs. I don't think it's crucial, the likes of Lahm and Alves are pretty short, but it's worth thinking about.
Think we need a couple of powerful players so we don't get bullied by the physical teams. People like lallana lovren and firmino and even hendo and moreno are too easily bullied and physically dominated. Not too bad if its firmino as its the other end of the pitch but the rest are a bunch of girls
We need to get Sakho in the gym. With a bit of work he can become the beast he should be!
Lovren, get rid. Physically and mentally weak
Power, strength and aggression are more important than height.
The football we play is about getting in the oppositions faces and making them feel uncomfortable, when we are out of possession.
You need some height as it's an obvious psychological and necessary physical advantage in some situations.
Overall though it's not that important.

You truly are clueless. Lovren has undoubtedly been playing better that Sakho, and do you think doing extra gym work will stop Sakho constantly passing the ball to the opposition, or falling over all the time?

Grujic is growing by the week. He was 6'5 a few weeks ago.
He's using that doctor's growth hormones like Leicester City's players.
