I thought Allen played well again and he's turned it around a bit. Massive opportunity for him given the injuries so I hope he stays injury free for everyone's sake.

Another goal for Firmino is nice.

Allen played well. He's stopped trying to play it safe all the time, which he did some time ago but now he's able to pull it off. On this form he's given Klopp something to think about as he was probably in the sell category a while back.

Yeah good point on Allen, played a lovely little chip into sturridge in the first half.

It's up to him now really, everyone would be happy to keep in in the squad, it's whether or not he is happy being a squad player or if he wants to go somewhere like back to Swansea to play every week.

Are we selling studge in summer. I get the feeling klopp is not fully sold on him. I read an article in the mirror where he was saying he would not buy a player even if he was world class if he did not work hard etc. I wonder if that was a thin reference to studge?

Sturridge does work hard though. He tracks back better than any of our other strikers, I'd say it was more a reference to benteke.

Studge has just had so many injuries that when he finally came back you could see he didn't quite trust his body, so he wasn't as explosive or sharp as normal. Now he's been back a while and his body is strengthening every game, he's trusting it more and more and is getting back to his best.

I'd be shocked if klopp sold our best striker just as he looks to finally be getting over his injury problems.

Sturridge isn't the hardest worker but hes not the laziest either. Think Klopps just using his brain with Studge, he ain't playing till hes completed so many high intensive training sessions etc. Whilst also proving if you aint good enough (Benteke) he can get the best out of what he has, and he hasn't even got his own players in yet.

Don't think he wants to sell Sturridge hes just challenging him like he seems to be the rest of the squad. Ibe (spat his dummy out the other day after Stoke?) and Ojo etc. Its good challenging the players you either put in the effort or you're out no matter who you are or how important you think you are. Brendan did it to Hendo and Downing etc, but that changed once they were his own signings unfortunately.

Sturridge has been told by Klopp, to play through slight discomfort managing his pain and to stop being a hypercondriac. He said this today too on Studge.

“Nobody is undroppable. I never look at any player and think ‘I can’t leave him out’.

I suspect that Sturridge is one of those who likes to take it easy in training so he doesn't get injured.

I don't know that, it's just a theory.

The thing is with Klopp there is no such thing as taking it easy.

It's high intensity all over and you either do it or you don't get on.

If Sturridge does that then there will be no problems.

For the jury is still out on whether he will though.

Sturridge won't be sold. Only an idiot would sell Sturridge in our current situation. I don't think Klopp is an idiot. Crazy yes, Idiot no.

What I like about Klopp team is the team work and not individuals. His system as a whole. Yesterday we made changes and we had lots of young players but still won and we should have scored at least three more goals. Against West Ham in FA cup we had a similar team and were the better team over the two legs but their keeper got motm in both games.

* if Klopp can solve our defensive problems then we can be eadily a top 4 team again.

In the last two games alone Sturridge has been massive in the two wins. 6 goals in 674 minutes is an insane strike rate in the prem and by his own standards could have easily had a few more.

I don't think he works and less than Aubameyang from what I saw from the two legs and I do think people are reading WAY too much into things.

Keep him fit and we can win trophies.

Only seen highlights but Ojo looked class and got an assist again. Thought the youngsters on the whole did well.

sturrdige was good but... again at the top level those have to go in. was his chip a bit of bad lukc or a poor finish?

He'd all goal to hit and he missed.

his thunderous shot off the bar on the other hand was a brilliant effort.

this early shot on the volley was poor imo.

For me he's gone well but was alos a bit greedy in parts. Mostly he got o nthe end of good play fomr the whole team but on some occasions he should have built up play not been greedy.

There's more to come as he's still not back to where he was at. I think mentally he's got to front up and take the knocks and come through the game to really build confidence he can copy physically.

I felt the best part of our game was the pressing as a whole outfit.

The worst part was the sloppiness on the ball. firmino was awful for example.

We played a team you might call on recent games 10 of our reserves (firmino actually only first team, yes even sturrdige) and got a win. thats great for us resint ght players after thursday and we cna no build on towards next to league matches.

Sturridge's road to full recovery is still ongoing IMO.

Have to be delighted with 3 points when the CB pairing are Kolo and Lucas and CM Allen and Stewart.

I'd be really down if we sold Studge this summer, love the guy

His reaction when Firmino scored made me laugh tbh.

I have been surprised with Ojo at Liverpool the last few games. He looked very average during his spell at Wolves earlier this season and not really ready for first team football. When he started games he was anonymous for the majority of the time and almost looked scared to take a man on or run at players. He did get a few assists coming on as an impact sub, but Jordan Graham looked loads better on the left when we promoted him from our under 21s.

Seems to be doing ok now though. His loan spell probably benefitted him a lot more than it benefitted us.

Different games different teams require different tactic
Villa real won't attack as much as dortmund and as such I would play studge over origi as he will provide the extra guille to unlock defence. At home I would play origi and studge together

I really wouldn't be surprised if Sturridge moved on this summer. I really don't want him to, and I think it is Sturridge who may initiate it but Klopp wouldn't fight too hard to keep him. This isn't a measure of anything but did anyone see Sturridge with his hands on his head, even after Firmino had tapped in our first goal? I get that he was gutted that he was denied a great goal, I just find it a very strange reaction to do it even after we have scored.
I think we'll see in Spain that Sturridge will be left out again, and that won't sit well with him.

I think he thought it was offside. I said this in the match thread but you can see from the slo-mo replay of the goal that he looks over to the linesman as Firmino scores. He was one of the first over to celebrate with Firmino as well.

I only saw him with his hands on his head doing a Ronaldo. I hope you're right though.
