Football managers, like players, have a very short shelf-life. He's just doing what anyone in his position would do - making it hard for Celliono to say arrivaderci.
He's not starting and he knows he's not. It's all just PR.
To be honest I disagree with you.
He has done a good job. Learnt to button it and got this team going for the first time in a long time.
He has earned the right to build and any self respecting owner would have sorted this out already do Evans can plan for the future - not just for the club but for his own professional career.
I have never come across a man so desperate to keep his chairman inside.
He can see he's turned the corner with this squad. He's also getting attention from other because of it and is probably trying to publically drop a hint to the owner.
I'll not be putting money on him staying...!
Similarly I'll not be putting money on him going...!
I cannot see a link to the questions posed, bearing in mind he is responding to an interview, so really cannot assess how he came across.
Repeating stuff seems to be acceptable on this board so why should his comments be any different....?
I'd be happy if he stayed at least for the next season. He's done enough to warrant it and changing now would be unsettling.

Evans is going imo. Massimo has said more to suggest he doesn't like him that the contrary.
Regardless of personal opinions of Evans, what this club really needs is stability. Are we ever going to get that with Cellino. Probably not! Is the ST offer a gimmick or a statement of intent? I don't look forward to more upheaval and a summer of scanning Wiki to try and find out about signings that even their own mothers struggle to recognise, but I fear that's what's coming. I hope I'm wrong but I won't hold my breath!
If Cellino does choose not to extend Evans' contract for next season and then appoints an unknown foreign coach that would represent just about the worst in a long line of terrible decisions he has made. The instability it would cause just when we are showing some improvement would be unforgivable.
Like many I don't particularly care much for Evans but he is the sensible option right now. If he is shown the door it will show once and for all Cellino's uncontrolable ego for what it is.
I know Steve Evans can come across as somewhat conceited and likes singing his own praises, but if he didn't do that Cellino might just miss noticing the good run of form the team has been in over the last couple of months. I think SE deserves the chance to have a full season with his own signings and see if he can put his money where his mouth is! I will be extremely upset if he does get replaced and the whole long-winded process of a new coach (who knows nothing about his players and maybe nothing about the Championship) trying to get results in his first 6 games before getting the sack!
