Came across as a downright lovely lad, taken far too young.
Fair play Cat, time flies.
RIP Colin.
Generally I hate the "Diana effect" when someone's death elevates them to sainthood, when they were in fact normal people with the usual mix of good and bad qualities. But Colin Bloomfield was a really special individual, an all round nice guy before his illness and truly inspirational in the way he dealt with his cancer and his impending death.
I hear what you're saying about sainthood, Vidal. But Colin Bloomfield was the essence of decent ordinariness and of quiet courage in the face of a bad deal. xx
There is a new media procedure to deal with the death of celebrities Vidal. Immediately after death they were the greatest person who ever walked on god's water. A week later they were drug addled perverts.
I never met the man but know a few who did, and I never heard a bad word from them about him. A sad loss for his family and friends and a reminder to all to make the most of the unquantifiable time we each have.
