That is not really what we want. If a user filters all and sundry such that you can't comment, the best coarse of action is to reciprocate with the filter such that they are erased from your site experience. There is no perfect solution to such problems.

I wanted to comment on an article about tonights game.. Not directly to the author of the article but comment on something that someone has written in the thread.

I was unable to do that because The author has me filtered.

The only way me, and several others could get our points across would be create another article about the same topic

I just don't think it is fair that a certain poster can stop me from addressing a point with someone taking apart in a thread, just because the author is a complete plank.

i could filter him back but I won't. I'm an adult for starters

This topic, i.e. Captain Positivity and his abuse of the filter is a recurring theme on this board.

Whilst I understand the difficulties involved, I think that his abuse of the filter is making this board a bit of a joke!

As a previous poster has said, he wants to engage with fellow United fans on a particular topic but cannot due to the fact that CP does not like his opinion. Do you really want duplicate articles on this board, i.e. those who have not been filtered and those that have?

As i spend most of my time on this board I have realised that one poster has actually created a division on here, surely non-Wums should be able to engage with their fellow fans and not be subject to censorship by CP!

Anyone know what the "short names" option does?

That is a price to pay but we have more pressing concerns than CP. If he is such a problem, don't comment on his articles create your own articles that are open to all. Good sensible articles that create sensible debate. In that way it is a win win for the site and your own experience.

Billybob has been filtered by me so don't see why he's bothered he can't even see what I say.

May I just ask, what exactly was the point in filtering people if you are going to do that?

Captain it may be wise to ask us to clear your filter as a compromise between your promise to leave the site and our increasing temptation to facilitate that. This is due to the disharmony that has been instigated by your recent activities.
