It was defiantly the kick up the arrse the club needed, as devastating as it was at the time.
You did well, very easy for a team to go into free fall and carry on dropping down like Portsmouth
Completely agree and have argues this point with wolves fans for a while.
Even some of our players have said it was a blessing in disguise.
P.S. but we have fecked it up severely
I don't think Mandaric gets as much credit as he deserves really. Yes, the Thais are better obviously, but there's no guarantee about coming back. There's no right to promotion if your club is bigger than others in the division. The club was an absolute mess when he took over, and yes - he takes his share of the blame for us going down to League 1 and the way it happened. But he also deserves his share of the credit for the stability that Nigel Pearson's first tenure brought. He backed him enough and allowed him to rebuild the club.
What going down can do it lower the expectations. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your viewpoint, but I find that if it gives you a chance to properly rebuild and restructure with a decent manager rather than patching the edges, then good things can come of that.
Obviously I never expected things to be /this/ good, but still.
I said this to my father in allw who is a big Milwall fan,
after they went down, last year I said they need a clearout and a fresh appriach.
this season hey have looked a decent side and have a few young players coming through who look very good, I am convinced that they will come up a better team
Premier League not Premiership to be fair.
Sorry glory premier league👍
I think if we win the PL I can finally lock away the skeleton that is Roy Essandoh. League 1 was coming and although as sad as it was it came as no surprise and tbh I kind of expected us to come back up sooner rather than later.
Roy Essandoh though ruined my life
You know what comes next on that list.....
As a Bolton fan I can't wait for 2024.
We used to aspire to be an established Prem team like Bolton Andy. You'll be back someday mate.
