It's is something that has effected the city as a whole,.Despite some of the abuse we may give each other, we have a lot of families with mixed support.
just made a post on a previous thread about my own scary experiences at SWFC in a couple of semis there. Quite emotional post to write under the circumstances...yet somebody has pulled the article. The truth hurts for some. Shame on pulling it.Please explain
Bruce Grobbelaar was talking on 5live last night about how the players were sent to the families houses to 'counsel' them. He said they had doors shut in their face by Evertionian family members because they simply couldn't comprehend why it happened, and blamed the players for their family members wanting to go to the ground and watch them, not helped by the lies told in the Sun and other people. But he said once they explained the situation and spoke with the families, it helped them both and he said the idea by the club to counsel the families was a genius move and helped so many people.
I think the full interview is on at some point, not sure when.

Grief manifests itself in some weird ways at time. I remember reading one of the players saying that speaking to the families also helped him cope with the tragedy.

Here it is:
what an idiotic post. There for the grace of God go I.... I went to 2 FA Cup semis at SWFC in the 1970s. I was a kid at bothe.... in the Leppings Lane End. The crush was like no other I had been in at a football match and I was used to standing every week at Old Trafford in the Scoreboard Paddock during the bad old days of beered up hoolieis as the norm. (Ask your dads)...so I was a seasoned experienced match attender then. Hillsborough ground was something else...and I came out of the dump in both those games elated that we wont both games and were going to wembley but very much aware that one of my cat s lives had been notched off. The ground was a disgrace then and a disaster waiting to happen. During these games in the crush in Leppings Lane pens we as kids were pushed down the urine soaked terraces and squashed face up agains the blue railings at pitchside for the 90 mins. When we scored our goals it was pandemonium in there and you feared for your life. Fans constantly moaned during the games to the coppers to do something... but they just called us Mancy scu _ mmers and laughed at us. The police treated football fans as rubbish in them days. like 5hite on their shoes. What Mr Duckenfield has said since about his lies are a friggin disgrace and makes me mistrust and doubt all policemen about their intellectual capability of doing the job in hand. They were then unfit for purpose. His statements about the trajedy are an absolute disgrace and I have the CPS bangs him and his cronies to rights. Now rest in peace, you 96. You took the hit for all us football fans. We will never forget that.
Had to ban the other article. Was a troll OP. HK attempting to use a duplicate account.

That's terrible to read. Feel sorry that a part of your family been involved
Being close to someone who didn't care me back must have been so difficult to deal with.
Finally this has come to justice, nothing will bring them back, no apology or sentence will be enough.
