BS + AFV

You're almost certainly right, everything points to the fact that we'll take the title, but please don't castigate us 'older' types, for what we would call realism and you pessimism.

It's just that over the years, we've seen things go wrong before and can't quite believe that they won't again this time, even though rationally, the probability is miniscule.

We're also maybe a bit superstitious and therefore wary of hubristic pronouncements.

JG has a big point we havn't won anything yet we have secured second spot and a champions league place. BUT and its a big but there is no law that says we have to get one more point this season.

I could not believe the posts after Spurs drew it was if we had won it.
What i have said is we might not need another point to it
Realistically i thing 79 points will be enough.

We are in not a minnow maybe a mackerel. In all my 50 years we have been in our own league of one sandwiched between the top two divisions to good for one and not good enough to just visit the top one.

The owners next step is to secure that give 5-10 years in the premier League and we might be a big team.

We don't want to be the big team like Huddersfield Burnley Leeds and all those from the past who have fallen away in my lifetime

I think the minnows comment was just a wum to be honest. We're not a big club but hardly a minnow either.

You need to have more faith in your team guys because I'm being realistic not optimistic when I say spurs won't win the title

If you can't be convinced of that now then I don't know what else to say

I think if/when we need zero more points to claim the title then I'd be happy to say that we've won it.

The following results over the next few games wouldn't be particularly incredible:

Man Utd 1, LCFC 0
Chelsea 0, Spurs 1

LCFC 1, Everton 1
Spurs 2, Southampton 0

Then it would be a final game buttock clencher and a draw wouldn't be enough, away at Chelsea, if Spurs were to win.

I don't think that it is wrong, or negative, to put the Champagne on ice until we're mathematically certain.

Are Leicester much smaller than Spurs?

I really don't think so.

Yes, I know the 'minnows' comment was probably a wum-but it required an answer.

Laugh your bollox off if you will, in fact I'll do it on your behalf

THIS is a big club
and so are Leeds United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and the rest of them that are underachieving for one reason or another.

I may as well throw in a 'deluded' whilst I'm at it.

Because I usually get Hafi to be my grist. And once he starts my old mucker, you'll wish you never posted on this article when the inane stat rambler gets going

You know what a Hafi is right?

^ I do indeed, sir.

But to paraphrase the great Stewart Lee, "it's like urine off an old man's face to me."

As is the superiority complex you have seemingly displayed.

I'm allowed to be a pretentious tuat.

13 league titles witnessed is nowt to be sniffed at.

I wouldn't usually play that card, as under Fergie I could not have asked for anything better. And I don't believe in rubbing people's noses in it (unless we're talking whores and cocaine).

But now we've sunk to depths Fegie would never fathom, I feel I can play the ironic superiority card.

Because the facts are, we're not superior. So it should be like urine off the codgers face; good for you

^ an adequate response. The fixture gives that opportunity for reminiscence which has a certain resonance given that the away team are on the cusp of something so remarkable that, if ultimately achieved, the 1 title will eclipse - in significance and accomplishment - all 13 you witnessed.

Refreshing thought. Eh??

posted on 28/4/16

Thanks.

And yes it is refreshing. Not just for English football, but for Man United and for Fergie.

If Leicester's one title eclipses the one, every two years that Fergie won at Man United, then it says one of two things.

Either Leicester really are the minnows I jokingly alluded to earlier.

Or as I'd like to think, it shows that Man United/SAF are such a behemoth of a club/Manager winning one in two over a 26 year period is nothing to write home about....relatively speaking of course.

Neither me or afv have said we have won it. We just have faith that we will. And that faith is based on pretty good evidence

I was enjoying that!

If we'd have won 26 from 26 under Fergie, would the 1 title eclipse - in significance and accomplishment - all of them.

Genuine question. How much bigger do you see us?
