Arsene Wenger backs Theo Walcott for Euro 2016. "He should go, he has gone through a bad spell but in the last month he has come back very strong and worked hard."
Asked about rumours of the 27-year-old joining West Ham he adds: "I think he will be here."
Arsene Wenger dismisses a report in today's Times about a new two-year contract. "It is completely wrong, I don't know where it has come from, You can treat that as an invention."
Mesut Ozil returns to the Arsenal squad, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ruled out. On the subject of Jack Wilshere, Arsene Wenger says: "He can start. I haven't decided yet, but I consider him ready to play."
Don't really think we need to buy separate replacements for Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky.
Elneny has pretty much replaced Arteta already. Xhaka coming in as another option. As for Rosickys replacement we should look to our youngsters llike Toral, Crowley etc
From today's press conference:
Q: On Arteta/Rosicky/Flamini futures
AW: Mikel Arteta has been a great leader. All these players we have a decision to make.Do they continue as a player or become a coach?
Tomas Rosicky has been here for 10 years, Flamini has been a leader on and off the pitch.
One or two of them could play on Sunday.
Q: Will they definitely leave this summer?
AW: Nobody definitely leaves. They always return in someway.
Those midfielders are largely irrelevant. Our issue is still CF and awful tactics/team selections...

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They are hugely relevant because they are excellent players when they do play (Rosicky and Arteta at least, alebit not recently due to injuries). They've been missed. So they definitely need to be replaced with quality. Agree with Gillespie - not necessarily the same number of replacements, but cover is needed...
...as well as up front and defensively (replace Mert or Gab or both?).

The only player who comes anywhere close to replacing Arteta is Cazorla.
No one ever asks for the ball anymore.
We've seen Per and Kos having to personally take the ball up to Özil, a few times.
Asked about rumours of the 27-year-old joining West Ham he adds: "I think he will be here."
Anyone thinks Theo will be staying? Am happy if he decides to move on.
Arteta doesn't need replacing. He's an over-the-hill CAM and we have plenty of better CAMs already in the squad.
Those who think he was ever a CDM or even a CM(similar to what Cazorla is for us) really don't understand football.

Arteta has played in deep-lying midfield partnerships since I first saw him at Rangers more than 10 years ago.
I can remember him staying back so that Barry Ferguson could rampage forward, back in the day.
Check your facts.

Arteta is a cm.
Assuming Xhaka joins we need a wide forward and a striker. And a defender of some sort to freshen things up. Ideally a top draw cb but I can't see that. A lb seems more likely.
Mkataryian, morata and varane would be fantastic monsior Wenger.
Arteta hasn't played since Coq returned.
Flamini hasn't played since Elneny settled.
Rosicky has barely played since Cazorla turned up, never mind the likes of Ozil, Iwobi, Wilshere, Ramsey, Iwobi.
All 3 are irrelevant to our squad.
Science, that is a terrible comment btw.

Iwobi is Rosicky's replacement already. Operates in the 3 roles behind the CF. Good ball retention, silky etc..
I wouldn't expect a busy summer because those 3 have already been replaced with maybe 1 CM coming in (Xhaka).
Welbeck out? Well step forward Akpom/Sanogo. We won't do much at all despite needing 4 players 3 of those being starters.
Long summer awaits, even this Xhaka saga is dragging and is probably BS
I'm hoping certain players shocking performances this year will urge Wenger to bring in real quality. Too many are living off a few months form from years back.
Regardless of his importance to us I'll miss seeing Rosicky play for us. When fit he's an absolute joy to watch. Was perfect for our style of play and if it weren't for his injurys would have gone on to become an Arsenal legend
If Wenger is staying as most suspect he will then I wouldn't hold out much hope of a busy transfer window if I were an Arsenal fan.
The usual excuses, no one better than we already have, no value in the market etc. etc
Welbecks injury may mean walnut stays.
A very good CB, CM, Winger and CF would see this team really have a crack at second next season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why second. Why not have a crack at the title? I'm sure all the other teams around will be aiming for the top spot.
Or are you saying that even with a re-vamped squad you are incapable of winning the PL?
Ah, I can just never tell when Arsenal fans are being serious or joking on here as the mood swings are untrasonic
BTW, is it a Wenger in or Wenger out week this week or won't we know that until after Sunday

-----------
Virgil Van Dijk - £20Mil
Granit Xkaka £30Mil
Ryan Mahrez £35Mil
Alvaro Morata/Ibrahimovic £30Mil or £0
Thats a possible £110Million outlay but it we sell Theo and Joel and maybe a few we could get that down to £70Mil which is possible.

Surely a busy summer for us
