BURNLEY midfielder Joey Barton is at Murray Park to hold discussions with Rangers about a potential summer move.
The Englishman is out of contract with the English Championship winners but hasn't signed a new deal despite holding talks with the Turf Moor club.
Barton, 33, was persuaded to sign for Burnley by current Rangers head of recruitment Frank McParland.
And that could help Rangers' chances of signing the midfielder, who also played for Manchester City, Newcastle, QPR and Marseille, as well as earning an England cap.
His career has been littered with controversial incidents, and he would need to take a considerable wage cut to sign for the Ibrox club.
Why would he choose to take a wage cut to join tho?
I suspect he wouldn't be taking a wage cut, reckon we'd be paying a fair amount wage wise. Good player, and looks like he had a decent season at Burnley, but of a gamble, but could be interesting. Wouldnt surprise me to him go elsewhere though

Joey's a good, experienced pro and it would be a coup for Rangers to sign him - would also improve the Scottish game's profile south of the border amd maybe encourage others to make the move north
