I have collected plenty, but they're only from 2005 and onwards
Are they worth anything now ?

These days I'm also like Sideshow describes.

I also have a large collection, mostly from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. The modern programmes, although I do buy if I get to a game are too bulky.
I am in the process of putting my double season 60/61 back together again. I sold most of them years back, but for nostalgia reasons am buying them back again now. I have all the homes and quite a few aways, but still a few short, costing a fortune these days. My earliest programme is from 1948, a few days after I was born Spurs played at Fulham, so I purchased the programme.
I am busy for an hour or two now, but will come back to this article later, could be very interesting.
I stopped buying when I couldn't hold them far enough away in order to make them readable.
Used to love Ken Bates colour as well.
Was gutted and thoroughly dissapointed with our own fans in 2005 when I could not get a programme at our league winning fame in Bolton. The sellers told me people were buying them 20 at a time in some cases, some for friends but I bet a few Bob was made on eBay.
That should read bates column
JFDI, everyone should read Bates's column
Love him or hate him it was compulsive viewing.
I was gutted when it ended. It would be nice to have something similar but not from Roman, I like the way he keeps out of things.
No way I am going to compete with you guys, I have a lot of catching up to do.
Bruce Buck does sometimes contribute but I find it very reserved and reticent. I believe he is a solictor which would explain it all.
Good article
I always get a programme when I go to away matches (keep them together as it reminds me how many grounds I've done) but I don't think I've bought a home programme in probably 20 years.
The old man would always get me one when I was a nipper but when I was in my teens it was far "cooler" to have a copy of the fanzine in your back pocket.
Wouldn't dream of buying one now. They're more like a glossy magazine and cost just as much, only with twice as many adverts
Great article 69
I like you used to buy them for every game I went to. If I'd missed them for some reason I used to be able to buy them from that shack that used to be by the upper entrance (White Wall side) )to The Shed, where you could get back copies.
I had a pretty much full collection up to when I joined the Navy in 85, which curtailed (along with getting married ) the number of games I could get to.
My collection started from the 1st time I went to The Bridge. v Luton in Nov 74 and included grounds from Carlisle to Plymouth Argyle. Back in the day, before massive squads, the team sheets were on the back and more of less correct and a great aid to working out who were playing for the opposition. Nowadays you don't even know the teams until half hour before KO.
After joining the Navy I still bought programms but as the years went on I realised I was paying £3 a time for them, sticking them in my back pocket and not even reading them. It was then, that I took the decision to stop buying them.
My collection I used to keep up in the loft until about 10 years ago when there was a house fire next door and the smoke worked it's way into our loft leaving everything smoke contaminated. All the contents of the loft were sent away to be treated for smoke contamination but my programs never came back, which was a bit of a downer for me, as I treasured them greatly, being a huge part of my life.
Brum I picked up a lot of my back copies from the Shop that used to be next to the Cafe (both now gone) roughly where the Church (next to Wilkinsons) now is at Fulham Broadway. The bloke in there had a huge collection and I bought loads from him.
The cafe with the 'Pepsi' logo on the sign outside?
I used to get a fry up in there prior to going to the White Hart/ Kings Arms/ Black Bull as soon as I got off at Fulham Broadway
Yeah that Cafe was good. Shame it's gone now.
Perhaps some time, long ago in the past, I may have asked you to pass the HP Brown sauce JFDI
Nah that was me I clearly remember it
Those were the days when I was a young kid, gawky and questioned my right to be there. I'd have passed it and probably called you sir.
actual tabloid sized Newspapers at Derby (The Ram) and PNE,
-----------------------------------------------------------
I remember those as well and was really disappointed in them - I never kept them as they didn't really look right with the rest of the collection.
If I remember rightly Oxford's program in the late 70s was the same as well.
Sir - I never made Lieutenant JFDI
The Oxford Programme I've got is a magazine style one for a Pre-season game in 1984 I think.
The Ram newspaper one is from the notorious game in 1981 when a lot of seats were ripped out.
