I'd have thought the prospect of one final year in the Champions League would be a more attractive prospect wouldn't it?
----------------------------------
Maybe. But you get the idea that Ibrahimovic would want to be in it only if he had a decent chance of winning it. No point in going through the motions if he's just going to be in a team to make up the numbers.
Maybe we are... you know what Wenger's like!
Zlatan doesn't do auditions.
And Wenger wouldn't sanction the wages for a player his age.
Having said that, AW's pride is such that he wouldn't go back after being slighted... and Ibrahimovic's comment about not auditioning would surely have put him on AW's sh*tlist!
Wenger doesn't get along with Raiola who is Zlatans agent
Wages are too high, we need a long term striker not a stop gap.
He'd rather play for Man Utd and Arsenal.
Arsenal don't want to pay wages that high.
He doesn't like Wenger.
He does like Jose.
Jose likes him.
We need a talisman to get us back to where we should be.
Lots of reasons why we're the only team in the running. The rumours of him being our assistant manager are weird though. But would be hilarious to see
Zlatan: NO! Do it-e like this-e! No not that-e vay! THIS vay! Oh FFS! Gett off, I'll-e show you how it's-e done!
Young: But...Okay boss
I think the fact that Arsenal have a wage cap is the stumbling block, apparentley wants 300k a week!
Do Arsenal not cut off at 150k a week
I think the most surprising thing is that we are pursuing Morata, a player who may have potential but is not what we need right now and we will not win ANYTHING with him as a main focal point next season
Anyone else slightly surprised that we're seemingly not in the running for him?
Answer: no
Morata despite his poor goal stats has huge potential and has habit of turning up when it matters..Signs of class player.
Are you able to afford his wage demands?
If we can pay Walcott 140k a week, we can give Ibrahimovic a million pounds a week.
The wage isn't the issue, I think Wenger would just prefer not to handle a character like Ibrahimovic.

Wenger wouldn't sign him even if he was willing to accept 10k a week.
For many reasons, he's just not the character Wenger will work with
He's not worth 300k a week if utd are thick enough to pay him that then more fool them
300k a week sounds bad but it's not that awful when you consider there's no transfer fee.
Equate it to a 8m loan fee and 140k a week wages for a year of Zlatan to me seems like a good deal, even just for him football wise.
What he'd bring in terms of shirt sales, morale and sponsorship benefits is another matter
GT would start supporting Bayern.
Every cloud....

Plus £10M of signing on and agent fees probably
Where do you get £300k from? I think you've just made it up.
It was widely reported a couple of months ago that he wants £600k a week. I've done a google search on £300k and £600k and nothing for £300k, but here are the results for £600k.

I doubt anyone would pay him 600k/week, not even American, Chinese or Arabic club for that instance. I would be really surprised he would get anything more than 350-400k/week. Imagine Utd signs him up for 300+k/week and he feks up
