Thanks for the heads up. I have always tried to defend bdo but over the last couple of years the worlds have been poor quality. There's no doubt some would make top 16 in pdc if they switched but the standard of high 70s and low 80s averages are too commonplace.
Obviously being less lucrative, it is harder for BDO players to dedicate themselves to darts.
It is rare for a player to take home a wage that is enough to live on, and that is before they have to pay for the travel, hotels etc they need to take part.
Really I would guess a player outside the top 5 BDO players profits about £5k-£10k a year.
Top 5 earners in BDO probably make around what players ranked around 60 in the PDC make.
