Didn't tag onto the rams board mate.
Missed the County bit.
Cheers Igor. He'll get you up within 2 years I would imagine.
Not my first choice but for the club the best choice.
Cheers.
Excellent news.
We now have a football manager not a coach who trys to manage.
Welcome to Derby County Nige, long live The King!
Give him the time he needs (don't sack him in January because he's not playing "the Derby way" and he'll get you up. A great choice for you.

I'm gonna celebrate with a Thai tonight........
Looks like Villa are screwed. Pearson would have been the ideal candidate for them, but Derby have landed him instead.

Villa are a basket case (like we were a few years ago until Clough Jnr put us straight).
Excellent appointment.
Villa's loss in Derby's gain.
Might have a little flutter on Derby for promotion now. Anyone know the odds?
GREAT ! happy with that !!!!!
FFS- (Sky Bet outright winner)
Newcastle 5/2
Villa 9/1 (madness)
Norwich 9/1
Derby 12/1
Brighton 14/1
Derby look appealing given Newcastle and Villa will probably lose their better players.
Granted Newcastle will be top of the odds, but Derby @ 12/1 look a great bet for that. I'd put them second favourites above Norwich and Villa. Villa have both terrible problems and terrible players, while I think Norwich's manager is very overrated. They only stayed in the race for safety as long as they did because it took one of Newcastle and Sunderland so long to get their act together.
Very good appointment and its a great fit for Pearson because he doesn't need Shakespeare and Walsh to help turn things around.
When Pearson came to Leicester we were in a terrible position and he needed the strength of his backroom team (who are still with us) to rebuild the club. We were concerned about how effective he could be without Walsh and Shakespeare, but to be honest he doesn't need them here.
Derby have a great squad that have underachieved for the last 3 years, he should be able to get them up at the first time of asking if he makes a couple of decent additions. With the likes of ince, wienann and will Hughes at his disposal, he has the making of a premier league side already.
All derby needed was a decent manager to get the best out of the obvious talent in the squad, now they have one of the best at this level. Welcome to the premier league derby.....its only a matter of time
Incidentally, I'll be interested to see if he comes in for any of his old Championship-winning Leicester team. Wasilewski should be available as an old hand, Liam Moore or De Laet could be tempted to join him, Matty James if he's informed that he has no future at Leicester. And then there's Nugent if Middlesbrough want to offload...
Not saying these are necessarily the best players in the world but all would be useful for a promotion-chasing team in the Championship.
I'm not as convinced as my fellow Leicester fans that this appointment will work out for you, but that's probably because I was a fairly big critic of his in his first 18 months and for most of his last season with us.
Pearson is someone who can build a squad of young, hungry players and create a good team spirit for those who are willing to follow him 100%. He's less good at accepting those who are a little more maverick. I'm not sure what your team spirit is but, as an outsider looking in, I'm not convinced that the likes of Ince and Weimann will fit his style of management. His other main weakness is his tactical ability. Substitutions were never his strong point, certainly compared to Ranieri, and his ability to change a match from the touch line is questionable.
He's never been able to take over a club and take them up from the Championship in his first season. He was halfway through a massive rebuild at Hull and took 18 months to get it right here. Pearson will probably get you promoted, but unlike my fellow Foxes I wouldn't put money on it.
Finally, time will tell how NP copes without Shakespeare and Walsh. They were a huge part of his operation and ironically probably only got deserved recognition this season. Powell is a good appointment as his No.2 but you'll need a good scouting operation in place.
Oh, and if I was a journalist at Radio Derby or the Derby Telegraph, I'd probably be looking to switch to Burton Albion next season. He doesn't make life easy for journos and reporters and I give it 6 games before there's another ostrich incident.
Some good points there foxello. It will be intriguing to see if Pearson tolerates someone like ince who tends to play a more risky style of football.
He does have a habit of getting rid of anyone who doesn't fit his ethos and moulding a team in his image. The possession football will go and he will work on getting a harmonious squad together to play fast tempo and more direct football.
Players like ince could well suffer as a result.....
This will make the Championship more interesting.
Foxello - you're being far too negative about Nige. He'll take at least 7 games to fall out with someone
Seems like a good fit for both parties.
Be interesting to see how they do from the outside.
Personally gutted - Its like your ex has a new fella. It was always going to happen, you're not together anymore, but you don't want her going with someone else, particularly if you don't like the new fella
That is a great appointment. There isn't anyone available who is better equipped if he can get a good backroom team around him.
It is s decisive change if nothing else, maybe not my number one choice but to be honest I don't know who would be so overall I am fairly positive. He doesn't need to change personnel very much, just get the spirit there. Nuts as he might sometimes be, he is not in the Brian Clough league so we shall see

But your current squeeze is a far better ride
Personally, I'm a great Foxes fan. Mainly since watching my grand-daughter lead Danny Drinkwater (so I'm informed) out against the Aussies tonight
