Gotta feel sorry for Scotland!!

The Czech penalty was a dive, no doubt about it. There was contact for the one on the Scotland player, but he went looking for it, which made the ref think he dived- could've gone either way. Also, Scotland were very lucky not to have given away a penalty in the first half.

On balance, I dont think Scotland have too much to complain about.

Yes over the course of the game a draw was a fair result but to be denied a victory in such a must win game by a poor decision by the ref was cruel

It was cruel, and the ref had a shocker, but his decisions did even themsleves out. The cries of "We were robbed!" from the Scottish pundits after the game were a bit off the mark.

His decisions never evened themselves out at all.

His decisions all throughout the match were poor. The Czech's got away with fouling, diving etc throughout the match. The referee never had control. Thought the guy who made two rash challenges in a matter of seconds could have received two yellow cards, and was also guilty of a foul that could have got him a yellow earlier.

The Czechs should have had a penalty, they got one in the second half.

We should have had a penalty, we never got one.

You obviously didn't watch the match.

I am talking about the penalties in particular, not little free kicks here and there.

As for your claim that you should have had a penalty, well, I think its one of those that as a fan you would feel cheated if it went against your team and cheated if it didnt go for your team. From a completely neutral standpoint, I think the player went looking for it and the ref was right not to give it.

Btw, I did watch the match, but missed the first 20 mins of the second half, so excuse my ignorance if I missed any important decisions during that period.

I may be biased. But the fact of the matter is the Czech player kicked Berra, never got the ball.

Berra went down easily. But as a defender you can't make those challenges in the box. You simply can't throw a leg out in the penalty area, kick the opposition player and get none of the ball and expect to get away with it.

I don't understand how you can say it wasn't a penalty. He may have gone down looking for it, but there was contact and most players would do the same.

The Czech player simply dived with no contact.

What about th pen the Cz should have had in the fist half? They also missed a few great chances early and i don't think anyone was robbed. The ref had a bad game for both sides.

Is anyone in Scotland going to say well dobe to the ref for playing the advantage which in turn led to Scotlands second goal???

Didnt think so

I completely understand your viewpoint. If those decisions had gone against United I would probably feel hard done by.

But my opinion is that if you can stay on your feet, you should - to do otherwise is cheating in my book. Little kicks and bumps like that happen all over the pitch all throughout the game, but players only really go down in the box.

Its one of those things we could argue about all day - it just comes down to a difference in opinion.

Saying well done for making the correct decision?

Obviously not. Had he not given the advantage we would have complained about it at the time.

I can also see your viewpoint, but we'll have to agree to disagree.

Personally think the game is getting softer and I don't like that. But from a personl point of view when playing the most frustrating thing is beating a player only for them to clip your ankle and bring you down.

Just as bad as diving in my book. I like to see a well timed hard tackle, ball then the player is the perfect tackle for me.
