We all know Woy will put him out there

So it would be idiotic to not put him there in a predicted line up

Changing that to favoured line up.

To be fair, a "winger" in a 433 is quite far removed from a winger in a 4 man midfield as Scholes was played in.

If you play someone tucked in on the other side, and as long asVardy can get in alongside the centre forward often. Not far off a diamond to be fair, which it will probably will be

Against Turkey, Vardy was hugging the touchline in the first half pretty much, and only came inside once to run behind the defence. Otherwise he was crap out there. Do you think it was a tactical instruction by Woy for him to do that?

I agree, hopefully we play a diamond up front if we are hellbent on playing both Kane and Vardy in the same XI.

Vardy is a waste of time on the wing. This was obvious even against San Marino, for fack sake.

From the players selected it looks as though we may be going for a diamond unfortunately. I think that could be a disaster.

England needed Drinky to knock the ball from deep into Vardys runs.

With Horrenderson supplying the passes Vardy may as well go on Honeymoon now and save himself for some decent passes in pre season.

What's early?

Won't get out of the group.

Early exit, workmen like midfield with Horrenderson slowing the tempo....

Hart
Clyne - Smalling - Stones - Rose
Alli - Dier - Wilshire
Vardy - Rooney - Sterling

Thoughts?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Swap that lump up front for Kane and Vardy for an actual winger and then I like this team.

But Stones can't be in any squad, he is over rated and makes mistakes

It all depends on who is in the other positions for me.

If the player on the opposite side is a more a playmaker than a forward (say a Barkley rather than a Sterling for example purposes only) then it would free Vardy up more. But its virtually a diamond then anyway in practice, so it may as well be that to start with.

The trick really is to have players in the side that have more than one string to their bow. Mine would have Dier, Milner, Alli, Kane for this reason. All have at least two positions they are comfortable fulfilling, and then tactically you can adjust on the fly, without having to make a sub. If a player is out of position, you should not get caught out horribly.

My side is nominaly a diamond

.......................Hart
Walker...Cahill...Stones....Rose
.......................Dier
............Wilshere....Milner
........................Alli
...............Kane.......Vardy

But with the versatilty in it, it can easily morph in to.....

4231 (perm virtually any front four)
.......................Hart
Walker...Cahill...Stones....Rose
................Dier....Wilshere
.........Alli.......Kane.....Milner
....................Vardy

433 (perm any 3 from Milner, Wilshere and Alli)
.......................Hart
Walker...Cahill...Stones....Rose
..........Milner..Dier...Wilshere
..........Alli......Vardy....Kane

442 (4411 if Kane drops off)
.......................Hart
Walker...Cahill...Stones....Rose
Milner.........Dier....Alli ....Wilshere
..................Kane....Vardy

352

He isn't. He has Stones in each side he proposes!

Personally I'd use Vardy as an impact sub , if we're chasing a game or seeing a game out he will chase every ball down on the break.

Why the fack is this on the Tottenham board?
