its not a remaster of FF7 its a full on remake.

Completely different combat system , will be real time and individual ie not party based combat like in the original. They are also releasing it in episodes so not the full game coming out.

Im in two minds I would prefer they keep the combat kinda the way it was. It means that I imagine the AI will control guys like Barrett, Cid etc during combat as I dont see how they can make it work controlling them all in real time. Combat looks like it will be ala devil may cry sorta combat.

As i said I woulda preferred it if they mimic'd the original as much as possible. PUt in loads more animations maybe more enemies, different attacks etc but kept the core of the game the same. But they are completely revamping it from top to bottom.

Do i think thats good?? Hell no it wont be half as good as the original (the combat system made that game along with the story) Will i still buy it? It is my all time fave game so of course i will... then moan like hell about it no doubt !

'The full title of the re-master is Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. It includes a new 'job' system which was never available in Western release.
This advanced version allowed even deeper customisation of characters' abilities.'

From the BBC, seems a remaster with a few tweaks similar to the FFX version rather than a full blown game like FFVII.

Really enjoyed the game felt that it's probably one of the most underrated of the series by the general FF community. Vaan is such a terrible character though.

I know nothing about it at all

Do we know if this is going out across different platforms or if it's PS4 exclusive?

Anyone here play Crisis Core for the PSP? Probably my favourite of the Final Fantasys that I've played.

Loved VII & IX about equally, but couldn't get into VIII at all. The draw system was rubbish, the guardian force was rubbish, the level scaling was rubbish and the characters were all rubbish. Still, like every FF game ever made it had fantastic music.
Played the demo to XIII but didn't like it. Half completed IV, got stuck and just kind of gave up. Bought X remaster but I've not really managed to get into it.

And I haven't played XII at all. I do wish they'd go back to the more classic fantasy setting. Enough of the cyberpunk, bring back some steampunk!

My fondest memories are of FF7 and then 8, then 9 and 10! I bought FF9 the Monday it came out and completed it Friday afternoon after playing it non stop all week!

I've completed FF7 on grey original ps, ps1, ps2, PS3 disc and download and now PS4 download... Just got PSP and PC

I really don't enjoy FF13 though...

I decided to give FF13 another bash after this thread.

I still think they made a mess of what could have been a good game.

It's far too linear. By the time you get to a more open world area it's chapter 11 and you've already invested almost a day of playing time to get there - and by that stage you're getting bored. And then when you do get into the open world area, the map system is poor and I just felt lost most of the time.

The system for upgrading weapons is a mess too. It's too expensive for a start, and realistically you're just going to go online and find out what are the best modifiers.

The story itself is ok (although it has too many cut scenes for my liking) while the characters are fine - Hope is a bit annoying and whiny - but I think this is the third time I've got to chapter 11 and I just can't escape the fact that I keep getting bored at that stage. I'm going to play through it though and finish it this time.
