The longer it goes the more (I hope) it's likely that the F&P test will genuinely work out whether it's dodgy or not. I'd rather know now than later.
Is it dodgy? Get the impression that Xia himself is genuine. Certainly he's done a lot of background work on the club and football in general; getting in Di Matteo and his team was well thought out.
Samuelson I think is more questionable. He has/had links with other clubs and I wonder if he might fall foul of conflict of interest. Don't know. Don't like what I've read of Hitichins who he's had links with, but Hitchins only had a brief finger in our pie, as far as I can tell. So long as it's just a case of Samuelson having a seat on the board, then I'm not worried too much; if it turns out he has a deeper financial involvement (which Xia shouldn't need if he's all he says he is) then I'd get a bit worried.
Just have to wait and see. Could be a couple of weeks yet.
Often the sticking point with foreign investors is that they're asset rich but don't have enough actual cash. They end up having to sell assets, and that takes time. That's why the Glazers had to borrow money to buy Manchester United. They didn't want to sell any of their existing assets at the time. Carson Yeung was always too busy taking his money to the local laundry to worry about financing Birmingham City properly. How he and Thaksin Shinawatra (ex Manchester City) ever passed the FA and Premier League's fit and proper tests makes a mockery of those tests, and reduces confidence in the tests to zero.

Sounds like takeover will be confirmed by Wednesday.
It appears the powers that be have become much stricter with the checks they carry out. Rightly so, as we don't want to be in the same boat as the likes of Leeds, Charlton, Blues etc.
Yep, according to many sources Xia has passed the tests and everything will be done by Wednesday. Time to look forwards. About time.

Yep seen that cdd lets hope its right then we can get going.
A lot of talk about players who may go Gana Veretout. Must have been on longish contracts? If they want to then should be cash to play with?

Found it sad today MCP searched Villa news on Daily Mail and hard to find as we are not Premiership
Rumours of a centre half being signed. Any idea who?
Andy - yep, I noticed that we are dropping off the radar as far as clubs worth noting. Sad ...
... but there are consolations; no Lawro for another year
