I'm not sure there was ever any serious intention of Vardy coming to Arsenal.
It all sounds rather like a ploy from his agent to get him a pay rise

I agree mate all Vardy's trying to do is fleece little leicester for all they got and its working

I have to say, for Vardy, this fanfare and Wengers token release cause bid is all an endorsement of Wengers mentality in the transfer market. This one was a quick fix and a bit of a gamble for sure, glad it never happened but where does Wenger go now, that will be interesting?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what I'm trying to say. City are in for Aubameyng, United in for Zlatan and Wenger is being rejected by Jamie Vardy?
Surely Arsenal fans can see how ridiculous his decision making has become

Yes and leicester
But when I think about it this was probably Wengers obvious ploy. 20 million was an ok gamble to make, for someone who's 29 and maybe able to bring you the goals you need over 2-3 seasons but I don't think Wenger was going to go all out for him which is probably right.
So I'm kinda contradicting myself a little.

Whichever way you look at it, it's embarrassing for Arsenal.
- United signing Zlatan, City in for Aubameyng. The fact you went in for Vardy in the first place shows how poor your transfer policy is
- Once you activated his release clause you couldn't even prise him away from Leicester City. Leicester facking city!??
To be rejected by Jamie Vardy, to not even be able to draw in players from teams in the PL who aren't one of the big clubs just shows how far youre dropping in status.
Just saying mate, I think Wenger was going for a good bargain quick fix but obviously wasn't going to go much further for Vardy. I mean we just paid 30 million for a new midfielder so Wenger can stretch the wallet a bit if he wants to. Seriously IMO 25-30 million for Vardy would have been insane.

------------------------
1) It was a logical enough signing. He's proven in the PL and offers a completely different style to Giroud.
2) Arsenal's own unwillingness to offer more than 120K is the limiting factor here. They could offer 150+ and tie this up in quick time.
3) Leicester are going to have to shatter their wage structure to keep him. So if he doesn't replicate his form, it could be a bad deal for them also.
4) He might still sign for Arsenal. For all we know he's just delaying the negative fallout till after Euro 2016.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is what I'm trying to say. City are in for Aubameyng, United in for Zlatan and Wenger is being rejected by Jamie Vardy?
Surely Arsenal fans can see how ridiculous his decision making has become
-----------------------------------------------------------
Well judging Wenger & his decision making is all relative. If you consider what he has done for Arsenal football club as a whole, with the money he has spent & the stadium and you look at say Tottenham, Liverpool and eve the mighty Leicester, to cal his decision making ridiculous makes you look rather a fool and the Vardy bid has certainly wound you up.
If you want to compare him to Chelsea, United and City then fair enough he has made some bone head decions but he is still leagues apart from the hundreds of managers, chairmans and clubowners he has seen off in his time as Arsenal manager.
If you want to go even further united have come behind arsenal 3 seasons in a row after spending almost 400 million and changing managers twice.
Secondly players reject clubs all the time, as Liverpool or Tottenham fans will tell you.Arsenal are still an attractive club for most players even more so than City.City just throw the money at it.
united have been rejected by a fair number of players in the last few seasons from Cesc, Bale, Muller the list is quite long but it wont change their standing in the game.Nothing to be ashamed about a player having personal doubts about a club which is what Vardy has.
Besides the other thing is Vardy has concerns about where he will be played and his status as Welbecks move will show.
Nothing to do with the status of the club.
Now that Vardy has rejected Arsenal and everyone is happy can you just run along please
Come on Liquid - it's not a logical signing. Paul Merson had it spot on. Even as a Leicester fan I can be honest and admit Vardys limitations. He just doesn't fit Arsenal unless you're going to be pinging balls over the top for him to run onto.
Teams that sit deep (and they do against Arsenal) give Vardy a problem even when he plays for us. There are literally hundreds of better options and it doesn't make any kind of sense
Also it's not just about money although that is key. Do you really think he would say no to playing for guardiola if city also offered £120k? Not a chance in my book. His agent approached city as well as arsenal. City can offer him a realistic chance of winning the prem again and even winning the CL. Arsenal can offer neither
We've already shattered our wage structure twice this season by giving Vardy £80k in Feb and Mahrez £60k last year. It doesn't seem to have affected their form....
Taxi driver - clearly I'm talking about wengers decision making right now, not since the dawn of time.
You can reel of stats about finishing ahead of man Utd for 3 seasons if you want, that's just pointing to other recent bad examples to excuse your own failures. You haven't won the league for 12 years is it? You haven't looked like winning it for at least 4 years.
You know as well as I do that this situation would never have happened years ago. How many examples of big clubs like Arsenal, man Utd, city and Chelsea being rejected by players of the small clubs can you think of? We were in the championship 2 years ago - this season was a one off and everyone knows it
It's a sure sign of arsenals slipping status under a stale manager who should have left ages ago. Most other fans can see it
The article said Vardy cancelled the medical but Ray Parlour said he saw him doing the medical. If he didn't want to join then not sure why he hasn't just rejected us already... if he does want to come he might be waiting until after Euros to avoid any backlash from fans.

Arsenal havent come close to winning the league for more than a decade now.
If there's anything we do well, it's consistency. We haven't finished within 10 points of the league leaders for more than 10 years.
Coincidentally, with the exception of a single non-shareholding club employee, none of our board has been at the club for more than 10 years.
They found us at our current level, and have thrived in this financial niche. They've made minor adjustments to cope with recent inflows of cash to competing clubs, but the business plan stays the same.
The next manager, should Wenger choose to call it a day, will be under similar instructions.

Not really because we have proved to be far better at scouting talent than Arsenal. So much so Infact that Arsenal have tried and failed to lure Steve Walsh who discovered Mahrez to their club.
Should we lose Vardy we'll uncover the next gem while Wenger will go bumbling around trying to weigh up moves for other uninterested targets
All of this means little Leicester have won the premier league recently. When was the last time Arsenal did the same??
Vardy has only 'rejected us' when he signs for another club.
It is actually possible that his love for Leicester is genuine, and that he decided not to leave them, rather than not to join Arsenal.

BS can you care to tell us which other targets have rejected us or you are talking BS(excuse the pun)
As far as I know even our most recent signing was wanted by Liverpool and chose us. So which targets dont want to join a washed up manager like Wenger.
Last time I checked you have already been rejected by Troy Deeny and Ranieri has missed out on 2 other tagets who have rejected Leicester just forgotten which players.
Your fluke premier league title has clearly gone to your head and you trying your best to suck arro dic
Rejected by Troy Deeney? That must be why he's told Watford he wants to leave them for us then. The club rejected the bid not the player you utter moron. How thick are you??
In terms of other players rejecting Wenger - I haven't made out that other players have rejected Arsenal at all. I'm simply talking about Vardy rejecting Arsenal and that it's a sign of how the clubs status is slipping under a manager who hasn't made you look like winning the title for years now.
Whatever way you look at it, man city and United are getting the players your fans want. You can't even get Vardy who seemingly isn't convinced you're going to do that much better than us next season. Ok poppet?

This is probably his last big contract in the top flight. It's perfectly understandable for him to wait for a couple of other offers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dont think that's been the case here.

I'm not sure there was ever any serious intention of Vardy coming to Arsenal.
It all sounds rather like a ploy from his agent to get him a pay rise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree mate all Vardy's trying to do is fleece little leicester for all they got and its working
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In which case he's played Wenger for a fool hasn't he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes and leicester
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whichever way you look at it, it's embarrassing for Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It will be worse for little leicester if Vardy turns his back on them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really because we have proved to be far better at scouting talent than Arsenal.

Ok poppet?

I am pretty sure lightning has struck more than once at arsenal in the premier league era, let alone their entire history.
