Younger alternative to Allen? 4 years younger, and £5/6m in difference, depending on what we get for Allen.

Alonso had played in the CL for a sociedad side that punched above their weight and was linked with Real, but i think chose liverpool because he would be guaranteed a starting place.

Seeing that scout nation vid on zielinski he's not really a Joe Allen type player, more like a Lallana but quicker and more direct.

If we sign him, probably the best body swerve we'll have since Beardsley.

I'm quite content to let Klopp unearth some lesser known players. It's clear he has a good knowledge of the grass roots game in Eastern Europe, Grujic has already joined. These are players that will need to be worked on to progress the club but with us losing the Europa Cup Final there is very little alternative.

Hopefully Klopp will replicate his work at Dortmund with us.

I think that, had we won the Europa final, then Jurgen may had to send big, £20-30M bracket, which hasn't been his style. Now that we are out of Europe for the next season, it would seem he has resorted to form: buying young, less expensive talent with high potential.

But as said before, is he going to be an improvement than little Joe?

When Rooney comes up against proper midfielders, rather than the makeshift variety, hell be left wanting.
Central midfield positions are not a retirement home for ageing attackers, but you get the impression Roy along with the simpletons in the media, think he's been rather clever putting Rooney in there, and will persist with that plan.

Yeah. Only the first XI should be allowed to sing the anthem.

Not more players to wait 3-4 years until they turn into top players, by which time the current top players (Coutinho, Firmino) will have decided to leave.

Zielinski might prove to be good, or even great, who knows, but right now I think we need 2 established players to give our team a more solid foundation. Leaders and set piece specialists are needed. Pjanic would be perfect.

I like the idea of us buying players who have potential, they can learn how to play our system etc...but when Man City, Utd, Arsenal etc are spending £30m+ on players we need to join in....we have money available.
