Good to hear. Just hope things don't kick off again on Wednesday.

It will. He has also said he expects the hooligans that didn't travel on Saturday to go over and have a go at the Russians

A good news story is never a good story though that's the problem.

I have been saying that. There are 2000 fans with banning orders not able to travel. Many of them and others will have been watching the last couple of days and will be itching to get revenge now.

well, to be fair, if they had rescued a fluffy kitten from the sea that would have made the front page

Some of the footage of the Russian thugs is scary. Targeting everyone in sight. Police need to start firing rubber bullets at everyone involved in a brawl.

Looks horrible tbh.

Reports of some Russians having mouth guards and ufc gloves ffs

The Russian, Polish and Ukrainian firms are thousands strong and they take their 'profession' as seriously as any English hooligan takes their drinking seriously.

A fat, drunken 40 year old English nutter has no chance against a 20 year old Russian who has been disciplined as a fighter in hand to hand combat. These lads would have been in a training camp for months. I know Polish lads who have a mixture of combat styles, designed purely for unpredictable street fighting. Over there, they have to learn how to fight by the age of ten or their lives are made a misery. I would imagine that Russia and Ukraine are similarly fight or die nations given the many hundreds of sprawling, destitute towns and cities.

Some naturally progress into organised hooligan groups and these are the fearless fighting gangs that have made their way to France.

They don't need the knives and coshes.

The French security is apparently on high alert.... Yet the Russians managed to get a flare and a flare gun in, come in with gum Shields and UFC gloves. Either the French security is incompetent or they didn't bother checking the Russians as that is not what the security is for.

Fans charged after Euro 2016 violence
Posted at 10:53

Six Britons, one Austrian and three Frenchman are to be tried following violence in Marseilles, but 150 "well-trained" Russian hooligans escaped arrest.

"There were 150 Russian supporters who in reality were hooligans," the city's chief prosecutor Brice Robin told a news conference.

"These people were well prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action. These are extremely well-trained people."

Most of the 35 people who were injured in the fighting were English, including one who is in a "critical but stable condition".

The Guardian are reporting telscopic truncheons as erll

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/12/russian-hooligans-savage-organised-england-fans-marseille-euro-2016

And the Sun did a story a couple of months ago about an interview with a Russian Ultra who was saying they have been training for years to attack the English. Their ranks include soldiers, policement, etc and all of the top firms in Russia have been concentrating on the Euros so they can claim the "number 1" spot as hollogans.

Russia should be kicked out.

Did anyone hear the 'fan' from Milton Keynes who was in France at the Euros interviewed on 5 Live this morning?

He said it fighting was in our DNA because if we didn't we'd "all end up speaking German like the N*zis wanted us to".

And then you hear how, once again, groups of drunk fans were singing '10 German bombers' outside the bars of Marseille.

The war ended more than 70 years ago, idiots. No wonder so many of our fans have a bad name.

As a Welsh fan, I have to say I've been really annoyed at how bitchy the Welsh media outlets have been towards the England fans.
Especially when you look at the problems we've had with Cuty and Swansea. And now that it turns out the England fans were targeted no ones interested in that.
It will be the same with us against Russia if they target us the same way

posted on 13/6/16

Precisely... the media seemingly couldn't wait to start blaming England fans. Even on Friday the BBC headline was '2 england fans arrested over violence' then it developed to actually 50 French youths attacked the england fans...

I suspect many of the English media outlets want some trouble so they can run with their sensationalist headlines.

A significant part of the problem - as always.

No difference in the mindset of working/under class perrricks from wherever they are in the world.

Being fired up by rhetorical scuzzbags, through whichever mediated form, is never going to stop. The thuggish mentality of the right's desire to return us to the 'law of the jungle' (if indeed we ever left it), will prevail because there is no emotion/passion in the opposite.

Until the human population has a massive rethink about how we want to structure our systems, then our world's future will see 100s of millions of deaths of unwanted 'poor people' in the 21st century. Indeed, it will probably exceed a billion. Yes, that is a billion non-combatants killed by the worlds military at the behest of lunatic governments. Not the 10s of millions like we saw in the last one.

The under/working class is it's own worst enemy.

I've had friends come home early, it was just that bad.

Said it felt like police, Russians and ultras all had it in for the English.
