Just ha a read, is there another console coming out next december as well?
Yeah, new console late next year. if you can wait get a normal Xbox One as they're expected to come down in price with the release of the Xbox One S.
Depends on your plans mate
XboneS will offer better performance, 4k (video - not games!) and potentially bigger hard disks (depending on which you buy £250 for 500g to £350 for the 2tb version)
Xbone Fat will offer a better price point
Think I'll be looking this way as I have zero interest in VR and prefer the Xbox controller to PS controllers. In general there's not much of a difference in the games to make me choose one or the other.
Just wait for the Scorpio

Couldnt disagree more - both have good exclusives specific to each machine, and in general the other doesnt have a similar option.
And Chris why wait for the Scorpio? What will it do? What does it offer? How much will it cost?
And honestly RtM you would be better off updating your PC and buying an Xbone controller then. A 480/1060 will cost less than $200 and give overall better performance than a Xbone or XboneS and you can buy all the Xbone exclusives on your PC
Already updated my pc. It's doing lovely. Not sure why you're so against me preferring xbox. The reason I would get xbox is for some multi-player action while friends/brothers are over.
Where am i against it?
If you have a fairly decent gaming rig why would buy an Xbone with the announcement all future games will be on windows.
Couple of cables and/or a $20 raspberry pi and you can steam stuff anywhere
Wrong a rx 480 will cost over 200 dollars with taxes
RtM has always been an Xbox fanboy
It's what I'm all about tbh

Doesn't come out until late 2017 though right?
Are we likely to see a big price drop in Xbox One when the S version comes out this August? Or is there likely to be a price drop before August? The former seems more likely.
Think I might wait until August and pick up a standard Xbox One if the prices reduce significantly.

Wouldnt say a big price drop - but around £50 I would imagine.
Basically you will have 2 options:
Fat + 3-5 games
or
Slim
Would just watch all the shops (high street and online)
amazon, ebuyer etc
Here we go bud - already some good deals.

Unless you already have a large external hdd at home i would really suggest a minimum of 1tb as you said in your op. My 500gb lasted about 9 months I have now been game juggling and its a little boring
