We couldn't have signed him before anyway. The deal was always supped to be Madrid activating his buyback clause then selling for a profit and they can only activate the clause in July
We werwnt the only ones linked with him so it wasnt a certainty anyway.
Shame. He could've learnt a lot watching Giroud from the bench.
Vardy isn't coming so will be interesting to see what wengers next move will be with getting a striker
Wenger fk you...How can he not take a calculated risk on players such as Morata who has everything needed to be successful just inevitable he would have exploded unto the scene....WENGER you pathetic COWARD.
Same with PEA before last season when he would have been perfect striker for Arsenal but had not hit his potential yet..now out of reach..
Wenger and his pu$$y footing is costing Arsenal of what could have been always.
Why do you lot think we have some special rights to these strikers, like we're the only team in the world that wanted these players and they want to come to us. It's not all down to AW, some players may not want afc, London or England.

He will probably sign some u known striker and hope he does the business.
How could we have signed him when the process has to be started by Real Madrid? Don't talk rubbish.
He's a class act isn't he. He'd get into most teams in Europe. Just not his home team....

You can level a lot of criticism at AW, but you can't accuse him of only ever signing striker who've reached their full potential.
From Kanu to Henry to Van Persie, through loads of others who fell short like Bendy, Ade, Vela & co., plus the inevitable total flops, he's taken plenty of risks on young strikers based on their potential.

How many of them are in recent seasons?

You forgot Sanogo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You must be joking
There is a difference between going for players who are good and have great chance to reach their potential such as PEA, Morata, (Look at Dortmund and Ath Madrid's striker finds) and a player with no experience playing at top level, little talent to tell if he will ever make it.
Hindsight's a wonderful thing.
Its not about hindsight its about taking calculated risk that is what he is in management for..
Even a 10 year old knows a player with certain attributes and track record will have higher chances of succeeding than someone like Sanogo ffs

Agreed
Wenger has been burnt so many times, it would have been good for him to take a season or two out and reinvent himself.
