I worry about the next two. It's time for a Wednesday team to finally show some bollards.Have they got what it takes? Big Q!
What if they lose the next two and then go unbeaten to the end of the season?
Next two games important but not *hit or bust time just yet......
Consilio, I agree, they point to our progress and will boost confidence if we do well but it won't be the end of the world if we lose both.
I think we can get a result at Charlton, we are definitely due one down there!! This will be the first away game with Marshall in the team and we have looked much better going forward with him in the side, plus Madine seems to be able to feed off him.
MK at home is very winnable with our home form being good at the moment, will be interesting to see how Beevers and Potter are received.
I think we are on the right lines with the squad, if it gels and comes together then we will definitely score goals and this defence is probably as strong as we have had for a while now. A top 6 finish is there for the taking, up to the players to prove their worth.
I'll be happy with a point from Charlton, they seem like an ambitous as well as in form squad.
Wonder what that feels like...
Though I agree it's not the end of the world if we dont pick up points, I do feel if we are to be pushing for promotion then we should be expecting to pick up points from our rivals.
PS I am not sure Beevers will be allowed to play against us.
Fools, agree about picking up points from rivals, something we really struggled with last year!!
As for Beevers, I wondered the same but I thought it would have been announced and as I hadn't seen anything I figured he would play.
It would be an advantage to MK if Beevers plays, he knows Megsons only method and knows how our forwards operate.
We'd be stupid not to put that clause in there..
I'd take a point from Charlton - away - on a Monday night anyday.
He knows nothing about Lowe though.
Anyway he won't be playing. Semedo and Prutton just need to rough Potter up a bit and he won't want to know. Seen it countless times when he was with us........
Beevers is 100% not gonna play next weekend.
Potter will be booed.
We will lose at Charlton.
SIMPLE!
Even I'm more optimistic than that!
Chris Powell at Charlton has brought in 18 players over the Summer which attracted a lot of derision from many who felt his signings were "a load of players who no-body else wanted" Well they are not doing too badly so maybe he will have the last laugh
consilio ! what makes you think he wont play lowe ?
and please dont read the post above soory
Point at Charlton and beat MK would be ideal BUT what Meggy cannot allow is for us to get a hiding off either of these teams.
I meant Beevers won't be playing Imre!
o
i hope he does ,i thought that was the reason megson loaned him out ? i mean remember the bradford game ! megson is the master of master plans
Beevers is the best CB we have, with a good run of first team action at MK Dons he will come back to us in January back to his old form when he was rumoured to be the subject of bids from Everton and Tottenham.
I think we'll lose or draw at best tomorrow night. Sorry. We'll draw against MK Dons. So 1 or 2 points. Btw. Here's a quote from a recent MK Dons game:
"Charlie MacDonald headed in Darren Potter's cross for his third goal in three games to put the Dons ahead."
Frustrating. Innit?
Id be happy with a point tonight but we shouldnt go into the game looking for a point, we need to get at them and get the ball to Marshall so he can ping the balls in for Madine and Lowe to be in the right place at the right time if, say the keeper saves his headers.
As for MK, id say its feesable given our good home form at the moment but wouldnt it be typical if Potter got the MOTM and the winner ....hope I aint put the kiss of death on that
Charlton 1 Owls 1
Owls 2 MK 1 <crosseshisfingersintensly>
Cambodian....is your space bar not working
Lets be honest Potter was hampered by playing most of his 1st team games alongside the 'Irish Pele'. He was always going to struggle to look good alongside the little ginger maestro.
Not surprised that he's doing ok as he's a decent footballer.
Agreed, chupa. People were always moaning about him being negative but all too often he would knock the ball back to retain possession as there were simply no other options open bar hoofing it up. I think stats showed that his pass completion rate and even successful tackle rate were better than any of our other midfielders. Which says a lot.
Wouldnt suprise me as like you said the players around him esp JOC were utter toilet last season and season before, he's not the kind of player to play in a dogged team such as Meggys SWFC and thats why he struggled here - a mixture of Meggys tactics last season and playing with JOC for 3 years, no wonder he was off form for all those years!!
