Don't think there was much point taking him tbh, he's not an impact player like Sturridge where it's worth having him even if he's not sharp, he needs to be fit and sharp to deliver his best performances
I'm not by any means saying that he is, but he looks completely shot.
I naturally assume it's a case of having played no football at all in the season just gone and, as was widely predicted, may have proved himself a completely pointless addition to the squad.
For club, for country and for himself, the lad really needs to go injury-free next year and hope he can somehow make up for his lost year by kicking on. I don't see it personally.
He shouldn't have been taken to the Euro's but for Arsenal it's not the end of the World that he was. It will be a good fitness test for him but probably to the detriment of the England national team.
Danny Drinkwater must be sick to have lost out on a place in the England squad to Wilshere and Jordan Henderson. Two complete duds at international level who did nothing last season to justify going to Euro 2016. Hodgson went for so-called big club players instead of selecting players on form. Terrible selection from a head coach afraid of making bold yet obvious choices.
Drinkwater losing his place to an unfit wilshere shows that reputation not performances and fitness is what matters to the England team.
Drinkwater doesnt play in the same posistion as Jack though. I would personally would have left out either Henderson or Rashford for Drinkwater.
He looks overweight and out of shape.
It's too late for him to be sharp enough to have any effect on this tournament, however hopefully it's now part and parcel of his progress to being fit for the start of our season.
I also would have liked to of seen Barkley last night.
Woefully inconsistent, but if England can get him at his best then he's a game changer for me. We don't have any other options with the drive, power and directness of Barkley - Woy doesn't seen to trust him though.
Think Jack has been fine, made some incisive passes last night and was always looking to try something
Strange to single him out when players, like Kane, who have played all season are looking completely off the pace
Don't think he has the hunger to go that extra mile tbh. He'll be going to the Bahamas until late August. Be happy be proven wrong.
Not singling him out, article is about our Jack Wilshire the Arsenal & England player.
How is that not singling him out?
There were several times yesterday when Wilshere got the ball and held it for a few seconds while looking for someone to pass to. None of the England players were giving him a real target and he ended up playing a short sideways pass. The off the ball play of the rest of the team was poor yesterday. No one trying to make runs to open up the defence and allow the killer pass to be played to them far too many times.
Although Wilsheres performance was not one of his best, he is part of a team and it takes the tteam working together to get the best performance and result and they were severely lacking as a team a lot of the time. To give an example, the run Bale made for his goal and pass by Ramsey is the sort of thing it looked like Jack wanted to do. Shame England dont do that.

Least he's getting an early pre-season lol. Really hope that when the Euros end hes does come back late for training. He should be there day 1.
Jack did what was asked of him, the problem is not the players it's the tactic being employed. Vardy and Kane bang in goals most weeks in the EPL yet get almost no chances in this midfield (despite Kane having Alli, Rose, Walker and Dier behind him). Him and Vardy aren't suddenly bad!

Kane HAS looked well off the pace this tournament that's just a fact, it wasn't said to make you uncomfortable, though it appears it has. He was used as an example that it's not always match fitness that dictates how well a player performs in summer tournaments
If it makes you feel better I'll say that Dier and Walker have been our best players so far
