Why not?

1) Who is van Persie to dictate to the manager on tactics?

2) 4 goals, well done. But it was against San Marino, hardly a benchmark.

3) van Persie has outscored pretty much everyone in the Premiership this year.

4) Who will play up front? The woeful Chamakh, the untried Park, or gamble on Walcott?

Trouble is we have to play Arshavin, and on current form he's about as sharp as a rubber.

It was only San Marino

in all fairness weve been saying this for agessssssssssssssssssssssss

an interesting conundrum is in your formation where would arteta play? I think he could do a good job on the wing ya kno

also why not have chamakh upfront and take off arshavin and put walcott on the left, hes been scoring alot from the wing and having someone to hold the ball upto help enable that deadly trio of RVP Gervinho and Walcott would be very nice i think

good thing is with our squad we have lots of flexibility bad thing is wenger never uses it :/

Given our paucity of on form attacking options at the moment, I'd rather give Arshavin the free-role -against Swansea at least - and see if that helps him find his best form again.

i know its only san marino but the artical just gave me an idea. why not gamble on walcott? we all know he can finish, he can make this good runs in behind the centre backs. if it dont work we can just put van persie back there and bring benayoun on or maybe arshavin in the hole

RVP is fine playing the role he is playing at the moment. Cesc prefered playing deeper for Arsenal even though most of his best performances came when he was playing behind a striker.

Spot on haha.
Its a good point you make about chamakh too. give him a run of games and he might get his confidence back.

Also I expect RVP wouldn't be willing to help out in defence as much as Cesc did, so Wilshere would have to play a lot deeper. In the short term though, while he's injured, Frimpong could play alongside Song to give RVP the freedom he needs.

Does anyone know who was in Holland's midfield last night behind RVP? That might help to solve some of the conundrums.

umm the 5 mids were van Bommell, Strootman, Sneijder, RVP, Kuyt

I think we should try the formation suggested by OP or the 4-4-2 with VP in the hole against Swansea. Like a tester or something

How about playing Arshavin up front on his own as a target man?
