All seem to have pros and cons. For my own personal situation (I own a PS4 and gaming PC) unless there is some unknown benefit one has then it would be none, or maybe a NX.

Neo I dont think has enough over standard PS4 for anyone with a normal PS4 to consider. At this moment we wont be seeing true 4k gaming and it seems the only real benefit is if you dont own one and will defently want VR. Im honestly hoping Sony go back to the drawing board as I dont think Neo makes that much sense unless it comes in at the end of the year at the same price as the current PS4.

Scorpio would be up there for me apart from the "on PC" quote coming out of E3 - so for my $500- $600 that would buy me a new gpu, vive or oculus and the Xbone games cheaper than on the Xbone. With out this the Scorpio would be very interesting promising Oculus/Vive VR in a single box. The other issue is the "we wont leave anyone behind", I know it would have pi $$ed a lot of people off but if they just said b0110x we are starting our next gen in 2018 but its backwards compatible with everything in the Xbox library straight out the box then I would be for that. As basically they are selling a Ferrari that can only drive 40mph, as potentially studios may not bother doing extra stuff fir potentially the much smaller install base.

NX has a bit of interest but it depends what it is; unpowered stuck to the tv console with no 3rd party support no thanks. This rumor of play on the go hybrid console wii u powered hand held thing has me very interested but lets see. Zelda has me very interested but that aint enough for a new console- at this pint I would pick.up a used wii u.

I think this is very much going to be "wait and see". With the current dearth of information I can't see many people rushing out to buy either of the x.5 consoles from Sony/Xbox. Think Simon gets it spot on - they seem pretty pointless as games will be hamstrung by having to work on the old hardware.

Another problem is the specs look decent now, but in 18 months that'll be a different story and they might just be repeating the mistakes of this generation.

You're spot on mate - the $200 cards (1060/480) are going to see ultra settings at 1080p which the majority of PC gamers still use and even at the 1440 resolution they are gonna do well as well as open up VR to an even wider market. This is a great leap by the GPU manufacturers and this paired with the scorpio and/or promise of more consoles every few years could see a big increase in PC gaming. Interesting times a head.
