And so it proved tonight.
Best league in the world.

Nothing against Palace but this is simply incredible.
They've agreed a fee but he hasn't agreed to the move yet.
the crytstal palace cost 2 million to build
And people can't understand that a club that earn substantially more money could potentially spent £100m+ on a player. It's 2016, there's a disgusting amount of money in the game and while £100m may sound horrible, we have the money to spend on a player.
Can't believe Palace can stump up 30-40 million for a player, weren't they close to going out of business 7-8 years ago?
Do you not realise how much money PL clubs get now?
Of course i realise how much money they have, it was more that i never thought i'd see the day Palace would spend that amount considering the position they were in a little while ago.
Yeah the Prem really is a bubble in terms of the money that mid table and lower clubs are getting.
Arsenal who make well over double what palace do and charge their fans the highest prices in the world can't stump up £60m for Aubameyang

Yeah bud, we were literally hours away from going out of business in 2010 but were saved by 4 wealthy (not 'Roman wealthy' ) fans. Life since then has been great. Our fourth straight season in the top-flight, infrastructure is slowly being improved and we've now 2 new American investors on board.
Re- this potential transfer fee, it's a massive amount and has equally surprised many of us but we spent very little in January to fund a good summer.
Here's hoping the odd signing such as this/similar can maintain our PL status for a long while yet.

Who he?

Him.
Good for Palace. Hopefully more of this from the so called smaller clubs will see a far more competitive league. End of the 'Big 4?'
It was only a bid, the player himself has said he wants to go to a team playing in the CL next season.
His agent is also demanding the player gets £100,000 per week, yet he is not first choice for France & might struggle to adapt to the old
yet he is not first choice for France

Might be down to being Belgian...
from the bits and bobs I've seen of him he looks a talent, reminds me a bit of Saha... can't fault Palaces ambition, but I think he'll be looking a more high profile club
Sadly for us, i think you're right 'Shrugs'.
I would too tbh.
It shows that sides like Stoke,Palace,Southampton,Wba etc now have considerable spending power and are closing the gap for sure on the top teams. A few top players (like Payet) brought in at these clubs can provide success for sure. Look at Leicester.
Btw Leicester are strengthening quite well if they can keep their big three too. I expect them to be top 8 ned season
Absolute fecking disgrace.
English football should be closed down with immediate effect, it is a fecking shat show when clubs like Palace can do this sort of thing.
Quote: ''Steve Mandanda is a target that’s much more attainable for Palace, even with the new TV money – he’s OM’s starting keeper and Hugo’s primary backup on the French national team. He’s also probably Crystal Palace’s primary target. A bid for Batshuayi is more or less a swing for the fences here and represents a “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” situation. A Palace bid for Michy is more a statement of intent from Marseille than an actual serious bid for the young striker: it “sets the market” for Batshuayi and indicates that if any club bids £32m for him, it’s probably going to be accepted.
In exchange, OM is likely to give a bit of a deal to Palace in their pursuit of Mandanda, with the hopes that at the end of the day they’ll come out a little bit ahead. So there’s probably very little chance that Michy Batshuayi will end up at Palace next year, if what Malyon is saying is correct. Pardew, you sneaky little devil.''

Dont think of the money based on what it was worth back then. 30mil of today is like 15mil of 5 years ago. So in essence they've signed a 15-20mil player. THe value of the money is different now.
