I'm in the Allardyce camp. It's about results at the end of the day and Big Sam is very good at dealing with what he's got to work with. He wouldn't be afraid of the press or allow egos to undermine his position.
Nor would he jump through FA hoops, which is exactly why Hell will freeze over before he is considered by the blazers at the Football Association.
One of the things that often gets forgotten when throwing names around as the enxt manager is the dfferences between national and team management.
As a club manager they need to oversee transfers, build a team within their budget, train the team week in week out, motivate them every day, etc.
National team managers get to watch games every week and have to choose the players to make the best team with only a few weeks a year together. They have to get them to gel. One of the problems we see is manager after manager choose the players who get the most hype rather than pick the players who will work together to make the best team. Hence the "big name" stars like Rooney and Wilshere rather than the likes of Drinkwater who many fans thought should be taken. Then theres the Spurs boys .
