He's English. That's the fuss.
I rate Eriksen and Dembele higher.
Been a long time, brother Dubbed.
The kid scores goals. Like you say, he's not great with the ball. Loses it a lot. But he'll come up with an outstanding piece of play now and again. Unfortunately he couldn't do it for the national team.

Reminds me a lot of Lampard who also had his detractors but that kind of goal record from.midfield can't be ignored
Tbf, he looked a bit lost. But you could say that about most of the players. At every tournament we qualify for.

He's 19 and just moved up from league 1 to PL football, getting double figures in goals and assists in his first season and won YPOTY.
Just because he, like everyone else, didn't perform for England doesn't mean he's suddenly an overrated hype job, he's a very talented young player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much sums it up.
Would be moderately interested to know the last teenager of any nationality to do that particular PL double, can't think of one off the top of my head.
"bang average"
A stupid and overused expression. Why not just "average"?
more of a term than an expression I suppose.
Needs the right system to perform. Following trend that seems to be happening with some up and coming midfielders, see him as somewhere between a no.8 and no.10 (see Pogba and Ramsey).

That same Wilshere who was motm in most games leading up to the last World Cup and almost single handedly lifted the whole team that then became a shadow of the one it was without him in the finals.

He's a young guy, clearly talented. But problem is that he, like Kane and other spurs players aren't good enough for England XI.
Should he have even gone? Just because he's had a really good season doesn't mean he should've. But the quality was never there to suggest otherwise.
There's bigger issues than Alli. One being Rooney. Awfully past it, not a midfielder. No 10 at best. Sturridge should've started up top too.
All in all management was clueless and PL is over rated
"Clearly talented."
I beg to differ. He isn't clearly talented that is the point of this article.
That is what I am trying to figure out.
I am not even referring to his England campaign. I am talking about his general exploits.
Whenever I see him. He does nothing. No outstanding quality. All huff and puff.

you should try watching him more often then, he can't have got 10 goals and 10 assists in last year's PL just through huffing and puffing. including of course one of the goals of the season.

Wilshere is quality
He's a good player, a drop in form doesn't mean he's suddenly crap.
I think Wilshere is a cracking player when fit.
Watch his goal v palace
You may have to admit the boy has talent.

Na he's got talent. Very raw though but he has end product which is unusual for a young guy, usually all round play is better. But it's true he seems more like a workhorse from the outside.
He got an eye for goal that's for sure but let's be honest he should have had at least 2-3 red cards during the season due to his bad play. His diving is also shocking.
