One swallow doesn't make a meaningful relationship AJ, or something like that. Every dog has his day but we need dogs that have plenty of days, week in, week out.
I was surprised Reading released him though. Not a bad champiosnship player.
He clearly has desire and passion Spart. He wouldn't cost anything and would be a better option than Blackman.
Better than Blackman, small praise indeed.
i wouldnt make the mistake of judging a player on his performances in a major tournament
it gives no indication of the players ability to perform consistently over the course of a league season
He's suited to counter attack football.
The best season of his career was in the PL when he scored 7 goals in 25 games, telling as Reading were down the bottom of the league so would have been playing on the counter attack.
He's not suited to a team at the top of the league who wants to dominate games.
Thinking back to tournaments in the past. Roger Millar had a brilliant world cup even though he was closer to his pension than puberty. A Czech republic player with long hair (can't remember his name) was brilliant at the Euros and then was snapped up by Man U and disappeared. Baros who was known as M Baros for Liverpool but was brilliant for the Czech republic. Then there was the Danish midfielder who signed for Arsenal and never troubled the back of the net once. Some players can psyche themselves up for a short time on the big stage but don't handle the bread and butter stuff too well.

Thomas Skuhravy
That's him, I could remember Karel, he was such a fool.
Yes Poborsky of course but Skuhravy was another tournament success who didn't do as well in a club career. Scored lots at Italia 90 like Schillachi.
Silenzi came to Forest after a good bit of scoring form with Torino got him an international cap despite him being totally rubbish. The Italian Blackman.
I've not seen much of Blackman but surely he can't be as bad as Silenzi.

He scored a fantastic goal and if someone famous had scored it the media would have drowned themselves with drooling juice. When Vokes scored the 3rd I leapt out of the chair cheering wildly
What a pity Ramsey was booked for a nothing foul and will miss the semi final. Still he'd be fresh when Wales meet Iceland in the final.
And after what has been happening in the last 2 weeks it is even possible. COYW
Seems extremely harsh to miss a semi final for 2 bookings in 5 games!
Them's the rules and all the players know 'em MILF.
On Robson Kanu's goal, all decent players are capable of doing that. Better players are capable of doing something like that more often, that is all.
I am no great sportsman in my time I have hit a hole in one at golf, scored with an overhead kick whilst on the touch line, and turned an entire defence with a manoeuvre not dissimilar to the one last night. In that case I then I just side footed it to my team mate who scored easily. I have also taken a brilliant diving catch at cricket and scored from the half way line at basket ball. These are all very much one offs but illustrate that just because someone displays a brilliant bit skill it doesn't mean they are world beaters.

Only occasionally and how did you know about my nob?
I think you missed the point of what I was saying. Despite my lack of ability, occasionally something you try comes off and you remember it. You forget all the times you failed miserably.
