Forgot Falcao and a few others? Not just strikers either tbf to them, lost De Gea so took Courtois on loan, lost him replaced with Oblak, so consistent at replacing top players with top players. Said it for ages, someone should just steal their entire backroom staff theyve got it right over there.
Yeah you forgot Falcao, and Mandzukic was decent for them too.
Small club?
Atletico are huge and would be the 3rd, maybe even 2nd biggest club in England if they played here.
Brilliant club.
I'm not sure but would Forlan, Aguero, Costa and Falcao have got a work permit if they had move directly to the UK?
That's still the biggest issue the PL has of finding new emerging talent from outside Europe.

Forlan was at atleti after he was at United, falcao absolutely would have gotten a work permit as he was a fully fledged international and had been for a while, aguero would not have and Costa Liverpool triggered his release clause the season before he became amazing at atleti, so obviously he would have gotten one too.
They would not be the second biggest club in England

Why would they?
Atleti don't fack about - They get a big fee for their star striker, and almost immediately replace him with either an up and coming talent or a proven striker.
They don't spend 4 years waiting for the right striker to fall into their laps for a discounted price like Wenger does.
It's about proactivity.
Why does everything have to be related back to Arsenal's so-called "failings"? There are very few, if any, clubs who can boast a recent history of strikers matching the quality of that list, so it's not just us.
Yes, we've got Giroud and he's not the best in the world. We get it.

Because our top rivals, including Liverpool, have all had a world class or top striker in the last 5 years. It isn't just Atletico. Why has Arsenal not followed suit?
Aguero, RvP, Costa - What do they all have in common?
Strikers signed that improved teams enough to win the PL.
Arsenal have stuck with Giroud for 4 seasons and haven't progressed.
Before anyone uses finishing 2nd as progress - consider not doing that

Cazorla, Sanchez, Ramsey, Koscielny, Fabianski, and even Sanogo had bigger roles in Arsenal winning the FA Cup than Giroud did. He is an okay, good striker. He isn't a title-winning striker.

not sure what you mean. I'm not any of the above players. The fact is Giroud isn't a title-winning striker by himself. And until he has a top partner or a top replacement, Arsenal will struggle to compete for the title. Why is that difficult to comprehend? He is an above-average striker.
Even if we had their scouts or whatever, Wenger wouldn't listen to them. I bet our scouts do report back to Wenger recommending Likes of Grizemann, but Wenger will just refuse to spend big while he has Giroud.
Happens time and time again. Wenger has his favourite players, and is just to stubborn to displace them with other players. Like when we could have got Alonso, but Wenger preferred Denilson
That's rubbish. Signing Alonso hinged on Liverpool signing Barry. That the deal fell through was not Wenger's fault.

Are you Giroud's agent? You defend him as if you have a vested interest in his public perception.
Torres came through their youth system. David Villa was finished as a top player by the time they signed him. Griezmann was a big gamble that paid off. We turned down the chance to sign him and I agreed at the time. Big mistake from us though. Forlan flopped in the PL. Costa only ever had one top season at Atletico, then he joined Chelsea and was good for 6 months if even that. Falcao was hardly a find, they spent €40M+ to bring him from Porto. Aguero is obviously the standout player but would never have got a work permit in England. The same issue has stopped us signing the likes of Messi, Yaya, Di Maria in the past.
Also we've had better strikers throughout the years, Henry, Bergkamp, Wright, Kanu, RvP. The sickening thing is we've gone from that to 4 years of Giroud and counting.
