On paper this looks like great business, let just hope on the pitch his stats are as good
Nearing 2 signings completed and we've still got 5 weeks until the new season starts. Good work Levy.

Yeah early business for a change, these are the two crucial positions addressed. Some supplementary cover in one or two other areas now and I'll be happy. Also only spent £29m. No doubt the book will be balanced before the window closes in true Levy style.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
mason, yedlin, carroll, possibly chadli, will probably raise that money back.
don't want chadli sold though.

I reckon the bald magician can reel in about £45m from that bunch.
mason 10mill
yedlin 6mill ?
carroll 5 mill?
Chadli 15m at a push?
36mill I make it. getting 45mill would be magic
Chadli is a decent player, good finisher and scores important goals.
I wouldn't lose any sleep if we sold him though as long as he is replaced with someone better.

Sure, those figures seem reasonable to mere mortals but this is Levy's negotiation prowess were discussing. Looking deep into his crystal head I ensivage
Mason 12m
Yedlin 8m
Carroll 10m
Chadli 15m

Under Armour suitcase. Transfer confirmed.
No self respecting £20,000 a week footballer would have an UA suitcase unless hes joining Spurs.
According to De Telegraaf, AZ have given Spurs an 'ultimatum': they want €22 million for Janssen, and they want an answer today.
Doesn't look like a done deal yet.

As Ace says with the signing of Janssen and Wanyama we have filled the two most critical positions and we now have quality cover for Kane and Dier.
It will be interesting to see who we try and sign next.
CB - Sign another or move Dier back to cover and trust in young CCV ?
CM - Sign another to cover Dembele or persevere with Bentaleb or Mason ?
AM - Are Son, Chadli and Clinton strong enough back up or is this an area we need to improve on ?
CF - Kane and Janssen, do we need a 3rd striker?
Priority (assuming Jansen signs) for me would be a good winger. I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Schurrle come in at LM for us. He can also play ST so that would cover two positions with one move.
I dont know if Carroll signed a new deal before? I think his contract was suppose to end June 2016.. 6 month extensions doesnt look right.

we don't play with wingers though... so that player would have to be happy to be used as a sub, or on the odd occasion we change system....
As predicted, the deal isn't done by all means all this talk of on route on a flight for a medical was absolute bol**!!! Still trying to iron our an agreement. Expect this to drag for another 6 weeks

Maybe we don't because we havent got the players..
NJie was injured
Son was fantastic, before getting injured
Chadli, Lamela and Eriksen dont have the pace
Townsend was just a headless chicken

we had azza..
the system clearly doesn't use wingers because poch likes the fullbacks to provide the width...
they are basically the wingers.. the way they play.. with Dier dropping in as 3rd CB when necessary, or covering them...
if we bought wingers we just block one of our most dangerous attacking threats... our pacey fullbacks....
walker does my head in but you cannot deny that he is a key attacking outlet for spurs.
rose is quality.
trippier and davies are also both very good on the ball and get up and down.

Now we have key men in, I'd guess we will probably go on a one-in-one-out policy. So if Chaldi, Mason, Bentaleb, Son are sold we might see them replaced, possibly by youth.
Id like us to blow a big sum of money on a real pacey wide attacker.. Someone who can play across the forward line.
Chronic, they can still do that if you buy a good winger.
Its essentially the same as injecting pace into Eriksen or Lamela. Full backs will still push forward, Dier will still drop inbetween the CBs but youll have a much more potent attack
